Supreme Court strikes down Voting Rights Act

Supreme Court strikes down Voting Rights Act. They decided Eric Holder can’t use it to bully southern states anymore. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.:

“The Fifteenth Amendment commands that the right to vote shall not be denied or abridged on account of race or color, and it gives Congress the power to enforce that command. The amendment is not designed to punish for the past; its purpose is to ensure a better future.”

  • If I have to produce and id to see my doctor, dentist, do banking and even checking into a hotel. Others sure as hell can produce id to vote. This preserves the sanctity of the ballet box and one person, one vote.

I notice that the Texas AG moved to setup an id to vote right after this ruling came down. Texas is looking better and better each and every day. I might see if Uncle Ted has a neighbor that might be looking to sale. That would be cool. Hang out with Uncle Ted, debate issues, shot some guns and listen to him jam. Lord knows that I'm not about to join in singing.

  • If someone hasn't done so already, who on the Left will be the first to refer to this decision as a "return to slavery"? Sharpton or Biden would be my guess, but any of the Mostly Stupid, Nothing But Commies 'talent' would like to say it.

  • Holder is already threatening to go after any state he thinks goes to far with Voter ID or any other changes, Holder looks pissed in the Fox story, like he just got told "NO" and is about to have a temper tantrum...Obama is said to be disappointed, not as disappointed as we are in this Faux administration, Meanwhile Obama is now angry at Coal since he can't control guns and voter registration, he is now angry at Coal...isn't that racist? just sayin'......

    • Seems to me Holder has pretty much lost his leverage now. The Voting Rights Act was his only tool and it only worked on Southern states.

      • That's the part I enjoyed, was seeing his power reduced dramatically at least in the area of voter rights. He needs to resign, but if he won't perhaps he could be made insignificant.

    • I'm sure Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are preparing a million man march on the Supreme Court building.

      • No way, the charlatan and jack ass can not muster that kind of crowd. Never could and never will be able to. The black community is not aware of the fact that the amnesty bill being shoved down all our throats will hurt as all, but it will hurt them the most. When all of a sudden what few jobs there are are taken by illegals who have been granted amnesty and will work for less, longer and off the clock, many more blacks will find that their chance of finding a job will be virtually nonexistent. Leaving them stuck on the poverty plantation and beholding to the masters of it, the dim wits and the likes of charlatan and jack ass. At least Malcolm X encouraged those who followed him to stand on their own two feet and take nothing from the government. He knew what it would do to the black community and the black family.

I know that this kind of drifted off the subject but when charlatan and jack ass appeared in the comment section I just had to go for it here. as well.

  • And another thing, "Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg [wrote] that the court is essentially saying the Voting Rights Act has been so successful that it should be ended."

Well hell yes it should be ended. The law has been successful, the problem has been solved yet libtards want to keep living in the past assuming that the South is the same as it was 50 years ago.

    • Assuming the south is the same as 50 years ago means the Democrats were in charge of all that. A fact that doesn't pierce their impermeable skulls.

    • Or Scalia loaned Roberts a single molecule.

Conversely Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg continues her relentless assault on America and our Constitution.
