Surprised solar customers find themselves with liens

• I had a friend who was looking into doing something like this, good thing I talked him out of it.

  • A good friend here in Bakersfield, where solar DOES work out well, did a good bit of research, and had panels installed that he owns, instead of letting this outfit rip him off. He's quite pleased.

• Gee, thanks. I really needed this.
  My father died in November, and now I have to worry if my mother has a lien on her house because they put solar panels on the roof?
  I hate it that she has become scammable, because she's always trying to find a way to save money. I didn't even know she was doing this until after they were installed!
  How freaking effective can solar panels be in NJ? It's not like they get sun better than 50% of the year!

  OK, I couldn't find any liens on her house, but I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it.

• Just another example of the 'Screw the Consumer' attitude of Big Green. I would like some Progressive to explain to me how the operators of SolarCity differ from the Robber Barons of the late 19th Century.

  Cost for modest 3-bedroom home in California: $440,000.00
  State and federal grants SolarCity has received over the years: $500,000,000.00
  Cost of being a believer in and disciple of the Green Gospel: one's eternal soul.

  Repeatedly being proven right that it's best to resist adherence to earth worship religion: Priceless.

• Who knew, you go green and get free love from the solar company for 20 years. I hear their commercials all the time, and again if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...They are scammers screwing over property owners and making themselves rich. I wonder how much of that "rich" went to Democrats here in Kalifornia???
