Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

    • John, do you define corporate greed as taking money above and beyond what it costs to put goods on a shelf, pay for gas, electric and telephone, pay rent, pay taxes and pay one's employees, or, do you define corporate greed as government sanctioned raping of employee retirement funds; glad handing union supporters in order to produce inferior, costly, unwanted and non-competitive automobiles at the expense of the true owners of the automobile company...the share holders; stealing money from the taxpayers and giving it to people who feel entitled to the earnings of others more industrious than themselves; making unsustainable financial deals with off-shore "green" companies willing to make unprofitable assumptions about unproven technologies that prove impossible to provide...at any cost, then go belly up and the American taxpayer is left holding the bag; taking huge amounts of money from well heeled Bankers and crony fat cats on Wall Street and call that the face of Capitalism; and believe me John, I'm just getting started here...?

      • No he doesn't and he knows about none of that. He is just another useful idiot. He is the type of drone who would, as a collaborator seeking an extra ration, turn a gun on his fellow citizen if there ever were a communist coup in this country.

        • Corporate greed and corporate criminals are merely cute little buzzwords he uses to feel like one of the cool kids. He has no clue as to what is really happening in corporate America, because, by his own admission, he has only held one job, as a census worker.
          Working for the government gives you zero insight on how business is run.

The statists, socialists, marxists, communists, progressives, utopianists are the ones balkanizing this country of ours and they've been doing it for a long time and getting away with it largely because We the People became complacent and because the MSM has been complicit in the deceit for many decades now. Your so-called 'corrupt corporate criminals' tend more to be the 'corrupt bureaucratic kleptocrats' running the show in the Senate and White House right now!

  • Big difference: the Tea Party left their area neat and clean while the Occubots left trash, garbage and discarded signs for the peons to clean up.

    • Only because the Tea Party was given plenty of time to pack up their things. Occupiers were just surprised at midnight with a police raid with no prior notice

      • Really? I've been to Tea Party rallies, the demonstrators always leave the grounds neat and litter free. The OWSers, however, generate garbage and waste which they discard, it doesn't matter how or when their encampment ends. The OWSers, must feel they are too important to deal with picking up after themselves, that's what sanitation workers are for.
