Ted Cruz’s plan to pick off the competition. I remarked to someone awhile back who was complaining about Cruz’s campaign that I thought he was sitting back, being kind of quiet and waiting for some of his competition to drop out or screw up, then when the time was right.
“The players that were expected to be formidable in those lanes have not got the traction they had hoped,” Cruz said. “The most encouraging thing I would say is that I think three of the lanes are collapsing into one, which is the evangelical lane, the conservative tea party lane, and the libertarian lane are all collapsing into the conservative lane and we’re seeing those lanes unify behind our campaign.”

Well. Surprise Surprise. A almost balanced positive article at Politico about a constitutional conservative; not "said with a smirk". not "cornering the right-wing vote" "his hard-line message" but a courageous, smiling, constitutional conservative with a we are a nation of laws "message".

Cruz needs to lay low just a bit longer. Let Carson and Trump go at it for a bit. Show just a hint of support for Carson; enough support to leave the door open to nominate him as his Veep. Cruz/Carson ticket? That should send the left into a 'frothing at the mouth' rage.

The left would be apoplectic, but would still use the fact that there is no woman to attack. What would be better is if Cruz gets the nomination, and picks Condi Rice for VP. THAT would send the left into a tailspin! Then make Carson Surgeon General, Trump Sec of Commerce, and Fiorina head of the EEOC.

If Cruz really wants to get somewhere, he should start by taking out the RINOs like Jeb and Rubio.
Uh, the witless Jebito is taking himself out and Senator "I'm for Amnesty in Spanish only" Rubio already has.
Jeb is almost done. His big money backers are dropping him like a dog turd and he has already admitted he has better things to do than be picked on by people like Trump.
Rubio may hang in there for a bit longer but people are afraid of his stance on amnesty for illegals, which will kill his chances in the long run.
Getting rid of those two turds? The sooner the better, they ain't nothing but a waste of perfectly good bandwidth.
Cruz has the best resume IMO. I hope he does break out soon. But when that occurs, the GOP establishment, all the media and democrats will be working overtime to destroy him. If he can endure we just might have a real president again in 2017.
He needs to do an about face on H-1B visas and mean it. But I do think Trump is clearing a path for someone slightly more moderate than him, like Cruz to pick up the torch when/if Trump stumbles or quits.
Ted Cruz is a symbol of what's happened to the Republican Party, corruption from top to bottom. They are allowing ineligible candidates to run for office. Perhaps they are just Democrats in disguise.

He is right, the battle for the top spot is between Trump and Carson. Those two are now starting to hit on each other, But Cruz does need a breakout moment as mentioned in the article, If that is gonna happen I hope it happens soon. I would love to see him run as the nominee, but you have to remember the spineless Rino shitheads int he party hate him because he won't bend over and kiss their ass...Jindal, Huckabee, Santorum,Christie, and Kasich need to go away..None of them is ever going to get any traction in this cycle. Rand is another that is going nowhere fast...

As all the low percentage folks drop out, I can see their support going to Cruz. Remember, tomorrow night is the next debate, I hear that Jeb is going to come out flaming Rubio, but I don't think that will get him anywhere, plus, if Rubio knows to expect this, he will likely be ready to poop on Jeb's head.
