Tesla to Add 6,500 Jobs to Nevada with New Battery Plant. Well, here’s 6,500 jobs and a $5 billion plant California won’t be getting. You can bet the trucks that deliver the batteries to the Fremont, California manufacturing plant will have large fuel tanks and gas up in Reno so they don’t have to pay the outrageous carbon tax soon coming to California. As an aside, in addition to what this article claims, we heard other reasons they avoided California are that due to California’s environmental regulations it would have taken excessively long to get a plant built here, not to mention taxes and onerous employment regulations.

By the way, as far as the fuel tax goes. When you drive a truck, you have to purchase tax stamps for every state that you are going to operate in, and your log book is required to track the mileage you drive in each state. That way, each state gets their pound of flesh through the Federal Fuel Taxes, which are collected and redistributed like all good Socialists want.
You're correct. When I drove a truck (coast-to-coast) My company paid for all my state tax stamps and any other legal docs that I needed to have. It was my responsibility to keep them up to date. Logs? I kept (2) comic books. A few times they would pull me in but I never got cited. California was a bitch. I kept the scale lady at Bullhead scales in plenty of sunflower seeds and she let me just cruise right through most of the time. A few scale people I got to know. Most were good people and they treated you well if you showed you weren't an outlaw type driver. The only thing I really cheated on was my time books. I had to get my 500+ miles everyday. I had a good timebook teacher haha.
Stockton is like an unsanitary crotch. I dreaded driving thru there. They shot thier nut on Solyndra and now it's Harry Reid's turn to make his communist friends rich also. They'll hire 30 people saying thier payroll is 1000 and they'll sit on thier asses for a couple years putting plenty of $$$ in thier pockets and the next thing you know-WOOOOOOF!! the bottom falls out of the company due to obama's community organizing ACORN trained accountants.
Stockton California tried to get this plant, But given their bankruptcy, California's stupid laws, taxes, and the fact that Stockton is still a crime ridden shithole, Might as well build it in Detroit.
On the other hand they won't be getting another solyndra which Nevada is going to get, It will be around for a year or two and poof, large empty building paying no property taxes....
Nevada is a great place with wonderful people. Now, I really wish they would uncork their thumbs and stop reelecting that senile old fool, Harry Reid.
The joker in the deck is the 500 million dollars in 'incentives' the State of Nevada has promised Tesla; there is still no real demand for electric cars.
They'll quickly turn Nevada into a Superfund Site.
