You can bet the trucks that deliver the batteries to the Fremont, California manufacturing plant will have large fuel tanks and gas up in Reno so they don’t have to pay the outrageous carbon tax soon coming to California. As an aside, in addition to what this article claims, we heard other reasons they avoided California are that due to California’s environmental regulations it would have taken excessively long to get a plant built here, not to mention taxes and onerous employment regulations.
