Texas A&M law prof says it’s time to repeal Second Amendment

Texas A&M law prof says it’s time to repeal Second Amendment. She also thinks the entire US Constitution is an obsolete document: “Why do we keep such an allegiance to a constitution that was driven by 18th Century concerns? How many of you recognize that the main concern of the 18th Century was a standing army?” No, the Constitution’s main concern was to protect the citizens from people like you. We need those protections now more than ever.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Every mass shooting is either gang (read Obama supporters) or some crazy libturd who is off their med, I think we just ban libtards from gun ownership...and ban this lady from college, I bet in some city there is a seedy part of town that would allow her to walk the street and earn a living...

  • How is it that the good people of Texas don't start a letter writing campaign against this fool? Let her go teach at some liberal school in one of the anti-freedom states, not in Texas for God's sake!

    • Like I mentioned above, I'm pretty sure the A&M Alumni Assn. will get her soon enough. Pretty prominent and influential group of people in this state and will wield more influence with events than a petition would. What if she held a course and nobody showed up?

  • So her primary raison d'être is the Sandy Hook massacre? The jury's still out on that one and I'm beginning to see a very clear pattern here and what I'm seeing is disquieting. It's beginning to look like a deliberate and clandestine assault is being perpetrated against the American people and the U.S. Constitution, by nefarious foreign and domestic forces intent upon moving public opinion and will towards the complete and total disarming and defanging of the citizenry, so they can pursue their statist progressive utopian world with 'gay' abandon. I firmly believe that Sandy Hook was a purposeful and conscious effort, by this regime, to add impetus to the gun ban agenda and give cover to its adherents in the trenches. She is your typical useful idiot and when the powers that yank her chain get what they want, people like her will become so much chaff. She needs to marry a Muslim and find out what's waiting for her just outside her classroom door. I hope she loses her job, but I know that if she does, some big Ivy League school is going to scoop her up.

    • Sandy Hook smells so bad it's unbelievable. We live in a world where everyone - EVERYONE - has a camera on them at all times (and every teenager takes a damned picture of everything)... and there are only three photos of that Lanza kid... and they're all doctored.

I think that whole "Lanza family" was created by a propaganda minister who then got himself a nice raise and a month in the tropics with pay.

      • I agree with all your points RKae, makes me laugh about one of my peeves. While I'm in no way arrogant enough to believe we're the only intelligent life in the universe, why, oh why with all these cameras everywhere do we not have one, just one, picture of a ufo? Or Sasquatch for that matter.

        • UFOs? I don't know. Yeah, it seems to me there should be more pictures of them. As for Sasquatch: I just think there are fewer and fewer people heading out into the woods these days. I go to national parks and they're just empty. Weird. When I was a kid we went to Mt. Rainier all the time to tent camp. All my friends take their kids out to water parks with brightly colored slides and "wave pools." It's sad.

          • Going way off topic now... Have you ever hiked the Wonderland trail around Rainier? Sections of or the whole thing in one extended outing?

          • It's supposed to take a week to ten days. Campsites on the loop are on a lottery system almost as hard to get as Grand Canyon Phantom Ranch. We are looking into it maybe to do some of the more scenic sections as a series of day hikes. The Mrs. likes her Hilton/Marriots and not into the camping thing.

  • I read the whole article and she goes on to make the case for states rights to enforce and decide issues on their own. Saying you can go live in a state that has lax gun laws or one that has banned them. I thought that the "states rights" issue was resolved, with guns, from 1861-1865.

  • Another fine example of why tenure should not be permitted. If it is so outdated why don't we do away with the 19th amendment that gave women the right to vote? Why don't we do away with the 14th Amendment? The one that all the leftist love to cite as the end all be all amendment. The US Constitution has set us apart from all other nations and that is what attempts to keep the federal government in some what of a check. Wonder if she is in favor of doing away with the 4th and 5th Amendments?

Without the Constitution, this "teacher" most likely would find herself working in the fields as a surf.
