The best comment to come out of tonight’s Republican debate. It comes from Newt Gingrich after John Harris, of Politico, tried to suck him in on Obamacare. Gingrich replied: “I for one, and I hope all of my friends up here, going to repudiate every effort of the news media to get Republicans to fight each other to protect Barack Obama who deserves to be defeated. And all of us are committed as a team, whoever the nominee is, we are all for defeating Barack Obama.”

Gingrich took Chris Wallace to task in the Fox debate for asking "gotcha" questions to the candidates. Gingrich's slapdowns of the media are enjoyable. He's a man of ideas but with the media labelling him Scrooge in the 90s along with his personal baggage he probably can't get the nomination.
It's about time conservatives started pissing on these "journolist" SOBs whenever they get the chance. Being nice to the jackasses doesn't get them anything. There's a few, like Tapper, that go after both sides and that's fine. I don't mind them kicking Republican butt as long as they do the same to the Dems - that's what their job is supposed to be. But the Politico and similar twirps who are just Dem cheerleaders - just piss on them on don't give them the effing time of day when they come looking for an interview. Screw them.
I absolutely loved that answer. And I've previously been pretty impressed with Gingrich. BUT remember all the baggage he brings along. There is exactly no way the media will let him alone with all that. I don't even think he could be elected Vice Prez.
Newt may be the smartest guy in the room but he won't get elected. I loved the response though.
Newt's remarks about Bernanke were great. Honest and accurate.
What did he say about Bernyankme?
Basically he said he'd fire him for debasing the currency and creating inflation. No transparency, demanded an audit of the Fed. Politically motivated as evidenced by quantitative easing. Pretty strong stuff in that setting.
While I can't claim to be a very big Newt fan . . . I must say, that was excellent!
