The closing of the liberal mind. Why were liberals of the 50s and 60s seemingly more tolerant and open-minded than today’s? One writer says it’s because they believe the revolution is over and they’ve won. “Dissent is only patriotic when you’re one of the patriots. Questioning authority should only be done when you are the questioner, rather than the authority.” Liberalism is like a roach motel.

That is the most likely explanation. Once they perceive that they are in control, all pretense of civility will be gone, and the true rudeness of the progressives will shine through.
No, they figured out the revolution is over and they now need to make money for their retirement.

Liberalism is a mental disorder that is a learned behavior, like learning how to be a criminal in jail, nothing more, nothing less. Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime, in liberaland it is give a man a lie and he will lie for a day, teach a man to lie and believe it, he will lie cheat and steal for a lifetime. Time for a education revolution, a taking out of the educational trash if you will.
They should be labeled totalitarian.
Why? Because the liberals of the 50s and 60s are the lib-cons and neo-cons of today. The 60s "new" left HATED liberals and were the butt of their attacks. They ignored "conservatives" of the time as irrelevant. The red diaper babies of the new left were the sons and daughters of the socialist and communist "progressives" of the 30s. They have absorbed the Democratic party entirely forcing the left liberals into the Republican party. Use of the term "liberal" to describe a Democrat today is both obsolete and misleading.
Because everything they do is incremental. "We only want 'A'! We'll never want 'B' - ever!" So you give 'em "A" and then it's "Well, it's only fair that we get 'B' too."
They have "Z" in mind all the time, but they need to boil you slowly.
