The Editor and the Administrator saw 2016 today. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon here at IHTM Intergalactic Headquarters, so we told Mrs Administrator and Mrs Editor that we were taking them out for a delightful lunch and a movie. They, of course, assumed we were going to see The Expendables or the Bourne Legacy or some other Hollywood piffle. Instead we took them to see Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016. The theater was packed. The audience were charged up. When it ended, the audience gave it an ovation. Then the Administrator stood up and hollered, “Now get out and vote”, and he was given a similar ovation. Go see 2016 for yourself. It’s all built around Dinesh D’Souza’s interesting theory about what drives Obama.

  • It's now showing in High Point, NC. (30 minutes away) local reviews: 2728 say it's a "must see" 4 say it's only so-so.

      • That would be nice indeed, but think the actual vote will be a *liiiiiiiiiittle* bit closer. I truly believe the Ryan pick has moved NC to the Romney column.

  • So I thought since I posted a complaint about the movie not being here, I should check and make sure it hasn't suddenly arrived. It has. At the closest theatre, five showings today. Oops. I take back my complaint.

    • I had a similar experience. I went through Fandango, and it did not appear to be showing at any local theater. But then I went to the closest theater's page, and BINGO. I also noticed that the movie has something like 3 stars on Rotten Tomatoes, but 82% of the people liked it. My daughter says that RT is definitely a movie snob site, and my guess is that movie snobs are probably more likely to be libtards.

        I think you're right about who the movie snobs are - the idiots who think casting Josh Brolin as George Bush was a good idea, think Fair Game was factually accurate, and think Hollywood is only interested in entertaining.

  • I've read the book this movie is based on. What's surprising is that barry and the dim wits didn't pressure the theaters not to run the movie. Can it be that they too have looked behind the current and found out the great oz is a shame?

    BTW it's an excellent book and I can't wait to see the movie.

      I especially like the way he handled the race issues

  • I will go see this. I just watched Dinesh's CPAC speech. But if the core charge is that Obama's main creed is Anti-Colonialism, then I'm eager to see what new insight he synthesizes. Gingrich made the same charge like a year ago.. to my mind with little effect.

    What I find more compelling lately is the notion that Obama desires to transfer wealth from suburbs to cities. It fits the anti-suburban impulses of decades of acquaintences I've enjoyed

    • Anti-colonialism is the motivation according to D'Souza. But his infatuation with far left professors and literally card carrying communists synthesized his raw disposition to it. One way to think of it is this: his involvement with Reverend Wright, Ayres, Frank Marshall Davis, a whole list of professors that are named in the movie, Critical Race Theory, Black Liberation Theology, The New Party, Alinsky, Marx, Hegal, and countless others should disqualify him from receiving a security clearance much less being eligible to be president. Obama is so radical that most white-guilt liberals refuse to even accept what is right in front of their faces.

  • Does anyone remember An American Carol?
    It was a movie out a couple of years ago, Bill O had a cameo in it.
    When I went to see it in the theatre, the place was almost packed, but the movie had been out for 3 weeks already.
    Conservative movies do pretty well.

      I meant to see that when it was out in Louisville but it came and went so fast. I'm a bit of a "Frasier" fan and so I wanted to see it because Kelsey Grammer is in it. He was in the 2008 movie "Swing Vote" also, which was funny but a bit too liberal for me. I wonder why "An American Carol" hasn't seemed to be on cable or the networks? Probably because the liberals won't let it on. I guess I'll have to look for a DVD.

      • Lucky for me, we have a second run theatre near me. $3 each and 1/2 price for veterans, police, and firemen. That way if I miss something I want to see, I have another chance.

        • Our local Cinemark is $1.50, $1.00 matinees daily. Just stay away from the "food" items and you do fine!

          • The one I go to here in BAKErsfield has $1 hot dogs, and they're not bad. But everything else is the same as at any other theatre. So, a buck to get in, a buck for a hot dog, and $4.25 for a large soda. At least I can still get a large soda in CA. Maybe not for long.

          • We bypass this by going to dinner (or lunch) right before the movie. I drink water from the fountains or smuggle in my own water in a biiiiiiig purse.

          • The one here has a real cool setup. The last few rows of seats have tables between them, and they will bring in your food order to enjoy your meal while you watch the movie. They have much better fare than most of the movies I have been to. Chicken fingers, burgers, pizza, etc.

          • Yeah, we have some of those here! They have wait staff to take and deliver orders while you watch (or preferably get the food during the ads before the movie.)

        • That's the ONLY place I go to see a movie. Eleven dollars to see a movie in it's first week? I don't think so.

    • too bad Hollywood hasn't caught on, yet. I think they keep thinking its a fluke, a novelty, no way can people really think that way!

      • Well think about it. Holly weirds live in fantasy land. They have minimal self identity, being drawn to whatever keeps the fans fawning on them. They marry for life, then get divorced in favor of their next co-star. Of COURSE they support Obama. THey believe what he is saying is true and complete!

      • I agree, but if the market was saturated with them they would perform as well as most other movies. I mean if there were 4 or 5 right leaning movies showing this week and next, people wouldn't be going to see them all. One right leaning movie every few years generates buzz and gets people to turn out who normally would not. I actually think it's better that way. Let people be over exposed time after time to liberal ideology in instances like hollywood entertainment because people get bored with it, want something new, and everyone likes something new. So a Conservative makes a movie and bam, people will turn out, even those who probably wouldn't seek such material. The reason the human species is so successful is because when we are exposed to something new it usually occupies our minds and holds a greater place (for some time) compared to the everyday things we are exposed to. Leaning or being exposed to something new is a powerful thing.

        • It makes our brains work better. That's why the Alzheimer's prevention folk suggest puzzles that require learning, rather than things like crosswords that only require recognition.

    I'll have to try and sneak off to see it tomorrow between building inspections and Dr appointments.

  • I haven't been to a movie in over 5 years, and it was at least 5 years before THAT that I had seen the previous one. But I think I am going to take my socialist hubby by the ear, and drag him off to see this. He owes me one!

    • Well my husband isn't socialist, he's just hyper active and can't sit still, but I am asking him to see this with me this afternoon. He hasn't gone to the movies in 10 years.

      • If he is conservative, the time will fly by and he won't even think about being restless. I was riveted.

          Our audience was somber, mostly liberals we think, its a very liberal area It was an eye opener for the lady in front of us..." I had no idea what he was all about, this just can't go on"

          • I never ceased to be amazed at the people who blindly support Obama and when you explain some of the problems (or the truth behind his lies) they are dumfounded. They are amazingly clueless.

        • It's playing here in BAKErsfield. I'm going to try to get my liberal lady to go see it. If she doesn't want to go, I'll have to go see it myself.

      • He's German, lol. Seriously, he is not QUITE a socialist, but he see's the "beauty" of it. And truth be told, if a country chooses to be socialist and is built to be socialist, I don't have a huge issue with it. He sometimes doesn't understand why I get all worked up, like the Census a few years ago - when I threw it in the trash and told him they could drag me to jail and fine me $10,000 but I was NOT giving them the info they wanted, lol. Bless his heart, he said he would bring me a cake with a file in it, and a carton of smokes. He's a great guy!

  • If I don't have flooding problems over the next few days I will take a few days of beer funds, sacrifice them for a ticket and a gallon of gas to go see this one. Of course, I suspect it will be like a 'singing to the choir event' to me and would rather send a fence sitter to get the learnin' that could flip their switch off the damned progressive communist party.

  • Not playing around here as of yet, how much do you want to bet "Dear Leader" will sic Eric the Red and the DOJ on the guy who produced this movie before I get a chance to see it.
