If I started out at minimum wage, and worked my way up to 15$ per hour, or more, and then someone who just started the job gets the same wage I busted my ass to achieve, I would expect my wage to go up accordingly.

Also most union contracts base wages on the minimum wage. Hike the minimum wage hike the union wage by a multiple.

I am not sure about California, butin Texas, watstaff only receive $2.15/hr, and are expected to make up the difference in tips. If they DON'T make minimum.wage, the business has to.make it up. If fewer people eat out, lower tips because of higher prices, then the business . Is going to hve to kick.in a higher percentage. That will add to wage costs.
The people who support these efforts get what they deserve. For those who didn't support it, move somewhere that common sense is the prevailing organizing principle.
And just where would that be? The whole country has an average IQ of half their shoe size. Besides, if I can't afford an increase in daycare, I certainlu can't afford to move!
