The Keynesian School of Economics Leads to Violence. What happens when a continent runs out of makers and there’s little left for the takers to take? It’s not a change you wanna believe in.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • The thing EVERYONE does'nt remember/forgot/did'nt know, is this, John Maynard Keynes said what he preached would'nt work with structural debt & strucutural deficit. Those who think they are Keynesian's are too dumb to understand that. That is why they don't understand that what they are doing is wrong, & why they think they have not done enough of whatever they are doing yet.

  • Sad thing is, it was heading this way in Greece when my wife and I were stationed in Athens in the early 80's. Socialism with a big "S" has been an entrenched part of their goobermint for a long time...it was just a matter of time before the house of cards came crashing down!

  • We are going to see more of the same in this country is we can't get a Congress and Senate elected that understands this.

  • I was watching* a show the other night, a couple of the fruitcakes from Food Network going dumpster diving and "freegan-ing" with typical New Yorkers. I think the point was they were going to cater a huge banquet just with food scavenged from dumpsters behind supermarkets, and gleanings left behind at "pick-your-own" farms. Not sure where these farms were so close to NYC, but that's not the point.

    Anyway, these two, I think every 2nd or 3rd line they uttered was some sort of shocked dismay about how much perfectly good food was going to waste when there's children starving somewhere, same old line. Reading that article it occurs to me - do they bother to ask themselves exactly WHY =we= have so much food we're throwing it away by the ton, yet even in what one would think is a modern Western nation like Spain, scavengers are starving and coming up empty? Why is our trash more bountiful than their production? Food for thought....

    *When I say "watching," I mean I happened to be in the same room at the time; my wife had turned this on. I gagged down about ten or fifteen minutes of it and came back up here to visit Cousin 'Puter.

  • Ah Europe, the socialist paradise. Nothing like killings, riots, unemployment and no money to spend on the gimmies to make your country fall apart faster that Chevy Volt. But yet here we are in America with a rather moronic president doing the same thing that has FAILED massively in Europe. I guess our dear leader believes he is the little God like creature who can make it work this time....And around it goes, where it stops nobody knows unless we wake the hell up and tosh dear leader on the trashpile of history in November. The only good socialist is one that has assumed room temperature.
