Let's try to help your MENSA scores... The president had nothing to do with the failure of Solyndra. Over the centuries the U.S. and idiotic administrations have/has lost trillions on investments in this technology, that idea, this concept or that new industry. Here is what top authorities believe helped Solydra to fold: 1. Cylindrical modules are not as competitive as flat modules - they cost too much more to make & to retail; 2. The market collapsed for modules, causing prices to drop to $1/W or so, which is out of the range of solyndra - every module they made cost them money. The market collapse is because of the over-supply of Chinese module production - about double the actual size of the still growing market demand. Yes - a mistake, but most of that money will be found and given back to the U.S. Reliable Source!

If I were you I'd work on those SAT scores, specifically the ones dealing with reading-comprehension, before moving onto the MENSA metrics. This scandal is not concerned with Obama's causing Solyndra to fail. Rather it is concerned with the man using his office to push forward the use of 500 million in taxpayer dollars to pay off a political crony. This wrong doing erupted into scandal (although it should have been one before) when the company folded and the money was lost. Further complicating the issue was that the Obama complicity came at a time when he should have known that the company was going to fail. So not only is he taking money from the tax payer to give to friends . . . he is doing so even after he knows there is a great chance that recoupment will never occur.
Ps- Just because a guy tells you his name is Deep Throat doesn't mean you should swallow everything he's spouting.

You should try reading idiot. They knew Solyndra was going to puke BEFORE they gave them money. Then they knew they were going to puke BEFORE they restructured their loan to save 1000 jobs for only a few months. By the way that restructuring put the taxpayers getting their money back BEHIND the investors. Even Solyndra employees knew this was a bad deal. You should find a new place to get your morning talking points bonehead.

Of course you will enlighten us troglodytes with cited facts including Obama (or his administration) not knowing about Solyndra's profit picture or the conflicts of interest with Kaiser. I also am sure that you will provide lots of examples culled from "centuries" of government hand-in-glove relationships with emerging technologies (read: businesses) and that Solyndra was just business as usual. Until that time, you're just another Obama apologist. You said it yourself, it was a bad business model. Without tax payer money the model likely would not have made it through an objective cost-benefit analysis for the very reasons you stated.
