The Nation: How Our Economy Lost $400 Million in One Week Alone. Apparently the economy lost $400 million dollars last week because there wasn’t quite enough government subsidization of unemployment. Thankfully that $400 million dollars was found to be doing just fine in the pockets of Americans that actually worked for it. Just kidding. The government didn’t use this occasion to return any of that money to those they had confiscated it from.

Doesn't look like my comment on their page is going to get past their "Community Guidelines." I said,
"According to this logic, (if you want to call it that,) it would have done the economy more good to just leave all that money in the hands of those who earned it. More, because government cubicle monkeys wouldn't get their cut before passing it on to those who haven't earned it."
You just want to kick the pajama-boy nest and see what comes up, don't you.
No, just want to kick pajama boy.
I dearly LOVE kicking pajama boy's nest.
That is one of the most hateful, idiotic publications put there, and that's including ManureSpreaderNBC's fave publication, Klan WeeKKKly.
Looking at his picture, I would guess The Nation may soon be in trouble with the child labor law enforcers, since he looks to be about eleven; the blog itself does nothing do dispel that idea.
According to the economic genius that is Nanzi Pelosi, that $400 million is more like $400 gazillion in the economy.
I see extending unemployment benefits as a double-edged sward.
1) We've been told repeatedly that the economy is on the rebound and that the recovery started in June of 2009.
2) Having the Democrats clamor for an extension of unemployment benefits makes statement number 1 nothing more than a lie.
If the recovery started 4 years ago, why are there fewer people working now than there were in 2009?

Here is the thing that really gets to me, the BLS reports from Jan 2009
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_02062009.pdf
and from Nov 2013
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf
Are so different in that there is much more fluff and BS in the 2013 vs 2009 reports, and even so, once you actually read the charts and compare them, you can see the employment data shows we are worse off now than we were then, but the lying and bullshit in the data now is only there to make Barky look good.
Don't you remember? They actually had the nerve to call it "a jobless recovery." Kinda like global warming that creates colder conditions.
Jobless recovery should mean no increase in jobs, not less jobs!
Oh come on. How much truth are you expecting?
Good point. I Laugh everytime I hear the recession is over.
governmental creative finance 101: provide more entitlements than one can earn working, enable dependency onto the government, remove freedoms in return for votes and benefits (earned by actual wage earners) indoctrinate the youth to the emerging socialist ideals of equality (forget that the wealthiest pay virtually all the taxes) provide yet more entitlements and guarantee the economic collapse of America, obama's hatred of America complete!
