  • Listen, send your unread copies to me. Pretty soon it's going to be cheaper to read a page, crumple a page, and wipe with a page than it will be to buy toilet paper!

  • Now, if conservatives were to respond to this book in kind, we'd probably go in to bookstores, find it on the shelves, and engage in a little Occupado-style "direct action" ourselves, such as dousing the books with BBQ sauce or Coors Lite [about all =that= is good for anyway ;- ( ] and generaly making nuisances of ourselves until the greedy capitalists understood that they were going to lose money by having this pile of cowpie on their shelves.

    BUT WE DON'T DO THAT KIND OF THING, AND WE CERTAINLY DON'T CONDONE TURNING THEIR OWN TACTICS AGAINST THEM, DO WE, GANG, HUH???

    Had I any interest in reading this I'd get a free copy and donate the money I saved to the Mises Institute. However I've no interest in reading this. I'm sure I've read it all before. And I seriously doubt these illiterati will be changing any well read minds.

        Since logic eludes you let me break it down crayola. The gist of the post is that I am already familiar with the ideas contained in the tome. I've read Marx and Engels. I've read John Maynard Keynes. I've read George Bernard Shaw and Upton Sinclair and H.G. Wells and Eugene V. Debs. I've read George Orwell -yes less on the authoritarian side of things but still a socialist, Golstein and Snowball were clearly Trotsky.

        And on the pro-liberty side I've read Jefferson and Bastiat and Locke and Hayek and Mises and Rothbard and Hazlitt and dozens of others.

        The very simple point being that I don't need this book to be acquainted with the Labor theory of Value. I am very well aware that it is a misnomer to assume equity in the labor's ownership of production simply by assuming that all ownership that is the proxy property of the state and to assume any reward from labor other than bare subsistence is counter-revolutionary and must be punished with a trip to the gulag. I don't need to be acquainted with the errors of a $20.00 minimum wage when it comes to the reindexing of goods and services driving up cost of living while driving the middle class into grinding poverty, despair and want. I don't need to be acquainted with with notions of deficit spending meant to boost aggregate demand -while dislodging sticky wages- that actually results in rapid loss of wages value through the inflation of the money supply as well as the stasis of aggregate product/services that even if it could be arbitrarily decreased the devaluation of the currency would be even greater as more had to compete for less and producers valued items even higher so as to conserve dwindling supply. I don't need to be acquainted with the ideas of low interest rates that punish savings while encouraging money to be given to these corporations you ostensibly loathe. And I don't need to be educated as to the fact that for any of these Flea Bagger dreams to be forced upon the people there will have to be an all powerful central economic authority that invariably leads to the cronyism and corporatism that your fascist policies demand. You are a useful idiot (as Stalin was fond of calling those far more educated and accomplished than yourself) and you are exactly the sort of fellow that the authoritarians are relying on to maintain their power over the market.

          • I've only read 3 or 4 of her posts, are they for real you think? It's like a parody of a stereotype almost. And what's the deal with the avitar, is s/he over compensating by having it carry a big, whatever?
