Time to bring back the old patronage system – at least you can get some non-Democrats in there occasionally.

The problem that the suck-at-the-public-trough crowd, ie civil service types, have is that they know damn well that if they contribute ten cents to a non democrap they will suddenly find themselves out of their gravy train "job". Not that very many, if any, would contribute ten cents if indeed that wasn't the case.
The problem is pretty much ALL lawyers.
It's not just that they keep the law is written in what amounts to almost a secret language that only they understand, then they all have the mentality that it is a chess game. It's not about right and wrong, it's about winning and losing. That is not just ambulance chasers either. It's ALL lawyers. It's drummed into their heads in law school. Not to mention, I have heard that the LSAT is designed to weed out people who are not likely to grasp this mindset.

Correct pronunciation key. People who work at a bank are called bankers, those who do farming are called farmers. Those who work at law are correctly called lawers.
I think the Old English pronunciation is more like liar.
I disagree with the old patronage system, I believe that only persons who know and understand the U.S. Constitution and the underpinning documentation that girds it and who support the notion of original intent should even be allowed near a public office of any kind...even dog catcher. If an originalist politician wants to appoint an originalist lawyer, then fine; if not, then I have a problem with that.
Socialism, communism, progressivism, liberalism, totalitarianism, Maoism, Stalinism, Leninism, Hitlerism, Cheism, Castroism, KKKism, Islamism, Nation of Islamism, Secular Humanism, relativism, paganism, Satanism, Wiccan and their ilk are all anti-constitutional ideologies and should be held as treasonous, not only to the U.S. Constitution, but also to Life itself. These evil ideologies have killed more Americans in the last forty years than all the wars since the beginning of recorded history...some eighty million Americans have lost their lives, since Roe v Wade, because they were essentially inconvenient to somebody either because they wouldn't die or because they were going to be born...what kind of mentality is okay with murder for convenience? What kind of message are we sending to our children and parents? How and why is it that two of the largest minority populations are destroying themselves at such an alarming rate that we have to import undesirables from every pesthole turdworld nation on the face of the planet? And we're doing a pretty good job of committing suicide ourselves! What has happened to us? We used to talk to each other and air our differences publicly, though it wasn't always civilly, but we tried.
Nowadays we have people sitting across the room from each other and texting...no wonder American youth are so f***ed up...no proper interaction; too much self-a-steam; little to no competence; can't spell, can't add, can't write a complete sentence; can't pick up a hammer and drive a nail; can't figure out how to work with fractions without a calculator; can't make change for a dollar; wouldn't know a real day's work if it bit them in the ass; just want to party all the time and get drunk, get high, or worse. Boy, oh boy, but they sure do feel good about themselves! Where in the f*** did my America go?
What happened to dodge ball, marbles, jump rope, fishing, hunting, hiking, tag, Simon Says.....? What happened to honesty, integrity, candor, competence, hard work, hard play? Whose brilliant idea was it to teach our children about things that even adults shouldn't know about? When did we willingly give our children to our worst enemies so that they could fill their little skulls full of hate and venom and falsehood? When? Why? Somebody have an answer?
