I absolutely HATE the idea that taxpayers should fund ANY artist. I believe there are a lot of politics involved, plus a lot of snobbery and cronyism. Why should taxpayers pay, in essence, to promote the careers of some artists over others? Make your own *&@% career! I believe liberals, as a whole, are in charge of choosing artists to promote - and I think they do it more on a political basis rather than talent. Your work is excellent, Rebecca. You seem to have an interest in nature. To me too much liberal art today is dark and not that good. A lot of liberal art seems to attack and not uplift. They are free to do this in a free country of course, but it irritates me when they take tax money and dip a crucifix in a vat of urine and call it art. I like Pablo Picasso's quote on bad art vs. good art:"Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun."
