• The deadliest known hurricane was in 1790, I believe.

• While I'm in agreement, I can't say that that chart gives any kind of useful data. If you charted the average number of hurricanes per year with each level of CO2, rather than just the total number of hurricanes at each CO2 level, it wold be more useful. Mostly because CO2 levels were in the low 300's a lot longer than the 330's to 390's it would skew the results.

    • This is actually quite interesting. The number of storms per year really doesn't matter as much as the number that occurred at the varying levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and this strongly implies the exact opposite of what Algore and Bloombutt are saying, which is that high levels of CO2, supposedly anthropogenic in origin, are causing climate change. This begs the question, is it really higher levels of CO2 that have caused global warming or is it global warming that has caused higher levels of CO2.

      • I'd be curious to know how long someone has actually been monitoring CO2 levels on earth. Why they started doing so and how accurate their data are. Hell, I'd be curious to see how 1850's CO2 monitoring technology stands in comparison with today's capabilities. Heck, I'll even give em 1850 and be happy to see how 1903 monitoring compares.
