  • This may seem dramatic but add ALL that is going on in this world and even just in this country... I will not be surprised to be hearing those trumpets announcing the end of the world.

    Once the world decides that everything goes and everyone has to be involved whether they like it or not... there is no space left for people to escape to and well... I think that is a good thing actually it gets me out of here quicker. I appreciate life and it is all good. However seriously Christ coming back just sounds so good everyday.

  • Of course there's going to be pot commercials, it's the only pain killer that liberals approve of for the butt raping this administration is giving the public.

      • How is alcohol any less of a vice then pot? You can't allow one without allowing the other.

        Then there is the issue of children watching the superbowl. If they're already being influenced by the beer commercials, then what harm can pot commercials do that hasn't already been done?

        • Idon't know creep. Maybe the fact that dope is ILLEGAL? As much as I feel alcohol is a problem, it IS legall. Desoite the liberal stupid states have passedtheir little laws, the federal laws trump the state laws. Besides even in the worthless laws, you can't buy it OTC. Its supposed to be by prescription for specific medical problems.

          • Colorado and Washington have gone past medical to recreational.. (though i still can't just walk into a shop yet to buy some.. they haven't hammered out all the retail regulations yet. That might be different in WA)

            i have a neighbor who owns some production, and a retail outfit (because of the previous medical regulations, you had to own both ends of the distribution.. very unFree Market). He told me just a few days ago the feds made another announcement about not going after anyone in these states (funny we were talking about this at my kid's 6th birthday party)

            So its going to take another POTUS to make the federal laws matter, and by then, this market will be making a bunch of people rich, and another bunch envious. The potential in hemp growing states will only entice more and more.

          • Federal legalization is likely inevitable but the state nullification bothers me because it undermines the rule of law. That said, prohibition doesn't work. Perhaps we will see a return to the 10th Amendment and a lot of the unconstitutional behavior in Congress or within the bureaucracies will decrease as those bodies will come to learn that federal overreach will be ignored by (some of) the states..

          • I agree that this along with so many other issues belongs under the 10th. But the federal government should not be allowed to simply choose what laws it will and won't enforce. Repeal is what's needed.

          • Absolutely agree. Both nullification and the Feds ignoring certan laws undermines the rule of law. This wouldn't happen if the Feds sayed within the scope of the Constitution.

          • If they don't allow nullification, how will they accomplish their ultimate goal of turning us into what Orwell warned us about in 1984?

          • Stop wasting money with the huge bureaucracy fighting the unwinnable war on drugs. There are far too many people in jail right now that would otherwise be working, (well, not all of them), instead of getting room and board behind bars. I'm a big fan of the tenth.

          • I agree that the Feds should not ignore certain laws that the current administration (whatever one it may be) is against. However in this case I think the most important law is the one stating the Feds have no authority in this matter so long as it is intrastate.

            Just imho.

            That being said I hope all the states decriminalize it. I'll stick to my beer and occasional whiskey. But I've mostly nothing against anyone with different tastes than mine.

        • Who is to say which is a vice? That's an indivual and personal opinion. Currently, one is legal and one isn't. Promoting the illegal one during the Superbowl is an example of progressive indisciminate behavior.

        • Moral equivalency on its own without reasoned factual backup is worthless. Mind you, I agree with you, but you can't simply say pot and beer are the same.

          • i won't let my kids smoke pot until their brains are grown.. by then they'll be at least 18 anyways.. I like to smoke now and then, but very grateful i didn't start till I was 20. It _will_ screw up a growing brain.

            They even busted me on it during my first physical for the Army.. Doc asked me point-blank to check my truthtelling, I told him, they let me in anyway.. That's when i realized some things

          • 60 years ago the experts all assured us that autism was caused by poor parenting, mostly cold and distant mothers. I am here to tell you thusands upon thousand of children have received vaccines for diseases that really are a risk for death or disability, and a tiny percentage have developed autism, THERE IS NO DIRECT LINK!!!!! Autism, ADD, etc are neurological disorders that are not well understood, and no cause has been defined for them. Ever. At All. The initial study that "proed" vaccines were the cause was poorly concieved and even more poorly run, and the conclusions did not agee with the facts. Actually the doctor who did that study has had his license rescinded. I have my first grandchild duein January and my daughter and I have already discussed the vaccine issue and she is getting her kid all the protection she can muster.

          • mmr does not cause autism. That theory has been thoroughly debunked. But some crazies still buy into the nonsense. Kinda like Gore and his globull warming nonsense. Do a little research before you post. And since when does a court issuing a ruling equal scientific proof of causation? Hint: Never.

          • @GeoffB yeah, after years of the back-and-forth, it is the most succinct slam I've seen to date.. Its not even vicious or mean.. just plays in the same logic field and turns the whole message around on its head..

          • Don't feel too bad. I had all those diseases and I still managed to find the web. He probably would have stumbled in anyway. And figure if hecwas even more impaired than he is now.

          • No, you can't say pot and beer are the same. Beer has killed a lot more people than pot, and now that pot is legal, beer will continue to kill more people. I don't use either one, so I'm not biased, just observing.
