I agree with you completely and the Spirit was probably talking to us both because I had the same exact thought as to why he didn't kill himself to thus be called a "martyr"? What they do is no true martyrdom indeed. No Christian per se wants to be a martyr but when it happens it happens. I am sure that a Christian would prefer to live and to teach and do the work that they know they have to do. The decision to kill a Christian and therefore making him or her a martyr rest on the other person not on the Christian. A Christian doesn't willfully become a martyr through their actions, OTHERS make that decision for the Christian. Jesus can be considered a martyr but not really because He knew that He had to die from the moment of Creation. He controlled the circumstances and the times and the people in order to make it happen, it was all part of the plan. A martyr is a martyr because he or she does what he or she does and someone else makes the decision to end their work mistakenly thinking it will end the Word and that is obviously a futile endevour. In a human world of true freedoms there should be no martyrs. What they do (these muslims) is simple suicide/murder. They are not martyrs, they are making the decision to die using their own volition to do so and they are murderers as well. There is no goodness nor sacrifice in that! Jesus didn't kill others alongside Him. In fact He wanted to make sure none of His disciples were lost (Judas killed himself that is not Jesus' fault), He even promised eternal life to one of His co-crucified, His Father's grief induced earthquake at Jesus' death actually rose OTHERS from their tombs and of course Jesus went ahead and resurrected as well. I have a theory that the reason these people want this to be a Conservative/Tea Party/Republican/Christian/Traditionalist/ETC. is because I believe that they want to hold on to that act of terrorism as an excuse to take over Christian Churches (get rid of public and private worship and symbols which is already happening) and/or exclude Christians/Conservatives/ETC. from the public/political arena.
Seeing themselves free from Conservative/ETC. values, morals, and public demonstrations of it, they feel they can do whatever the heck they want without opposition. This explains the clingers statement Obama made back in 2007-2008. We are "clinging" to the things they want to destroy or eliminate from the public/political arena so they can rule unopposed.
There hasn't been very many dictators or dictatorial governments who haven't said that Christianity/Democracy/Capitalism/ETC. are the natural enemies of their agendas. That is why Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot, etc. either banned religion(s), killed religious leaders or imprisoned them, or took over and made themselves the object of worship. It is sick.
I think that is the agenda behind this thing where they are ALWAYS looking forward to a time of terrorism where the culprit is a "Christian" or whatever. So what I think is going to happen is that someone is going to bribe someone enough that they will be willing to lie about his "Christianity" and stick to it to the end even if means execution, but very few would die for a lie so it will have to be someone that is terminal already in declined health or someone that is looking after someone else like a lot of the suicide bombers do. Now not all FUN is bad at all, and in fact we are told to enjoy our lives in Freedom, but the Freedom is not to be disgusting and gross or to endanger the lives and spirits of others as well as ourselves. Feeling good is important over BEING good and that is a problem.
So basically having gays and what not getting married will be good because it destroys conventional marriage. That doesn't even make sense, but it is what is happening. Most gays say that that is not their agenda, but for many of them it is. If conventional marriage is destroyed alongside fidelity, trust, monogamy, healthy child rearing and all of that GOOD stuff then what model will gay marriage have in order to survive? It makes no sense.
A lot of it is also envy. If we cannot have it then you cannot have it. That is envy and selfishness. When they can have adult monogamous relationships and do all legal matters with lawyers, contracts, will and power of attorneys, they want to pretend that they have no rights because they cannot have the same as a married couple. It is insane to me.
The weird thing is that as we slowly become a minority their persecution will not end in fact it will intensify as you had stated. EVERYONE has to join in no one can remind everyone else that what they are doing is wrong even if it is just one person. This tells me that the conscience (the Holy Spirit) is a very powerful thing/Person and those that seek to kill it are morons.
