Speaking of vegans & sech . . . there's a bit of a flurry going on about Anderson Cooper "coming out of the closet."

Personally, I had never given it much thought. If someone had asked me a week ago, I would have honestly said I didn't know. Nor do I care. It doesn't make him any better or worse as a journalist.
I certainly don't think the term journalist truly describes him but I guess in some way I guess he is. In any case, I really don't care, I knew about it, it wasn't that big of a deal that he didn't talk about it. It is so stupid to me that he felt the need to "come out" to explain a misunderstanding that no one really had.
This is the transcript of his email:

I think his intentions are pretty clear and reasonable.

Not that I care either way, but I really don't think it was a big secret.
I'm not even sure I'd call Cooper's intentions "reasonable," quite honestly. I think the word I'd use is "rationalizing." If there were people out there who held the "mistaken impression" that he was "hiding something," so what? Are we going to keep exposing our private lives to the public to pander to some nosy busybodies? How about we stick with, "Guess what? It's none of your darn business."
I only used that term to be politically correct. Personally, I think he's a hack. Still better than a lot of CNN hacks, though.
This is not news, everyone and their Mother knew he was extremely gay... I am unsure as to what or whom would have had a misunderstanding about it, that he felt he had to clarify. Why do these people feel the need to make their personal sexual business my business?

But being a meat-eater is an unchangeable genetic and biological mandate and defines who I am! What these ticks are doing is an assault on my most fundamental human right!

This as been an awful year for ticks too. I've gone my entire life without ever having a tick on me, and I spend a lot of time outdoors, to finding 3 on me this year alone.
Fortunately, I am very much still a carnivore, because the other option sounds like a death sentence.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: I'd rather be in a pile o- ticks than politics.
Or is there any difference?
