Must be on this summit, in a cave somewhere, the, "“troglodytes” who deny the threat of climate change" live. You know, the ones CA Gov. Looney Brown was referring to?
You never know what's going to happen in the Sierras.
1. Opening weekend of trout season at Cherry Reservoir (by Yosemite) in April, snowed like crazy. This was like 1964 'ish.
2. Labor Day weekend 1971'ish, snow. Couldn't get over Sonora Pass, couldn't get over Ebbett's Pass. Ended up driving up 395 to 50 to get back (the storm wasn't there yet was blowing up from the south).
3. Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite one August (mid 1990's) about 10' of snow still piled up in parking lot at Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite, mini iceberg floating in the lake there.
Tioga Pass is 9,943' but snow in July isn't too common.
I've never seen a Michigan summer as cold as this one. It's almost ridiculous. July 9th and I'm wearing a long-sleeve shirt and don't particularly feel like going outside. Yet the only weather stories in the MSM are about how hot it is in London.
Barely in the nineties here in San Antonio. Normally running consecutive 100s by now. But this is local weather, climate is the BIG picture...
Local weather is all part of the big picture, but the climate Nazis refuse to see that. If it doesn't support their false readings from the temperature stations on tar roofs and next to A/C condensing units (the part that throws off the heat) then it doesn't count.

That's a really beautiful area and I'm glad they are getting snow. My family has spent a week in the High Sierra region of Yosemite (not the valley!) every summer for the last 7 years running. Above 8500 feet it gets down to freezing at night and it can be a real test of your sleeping bag's temp rating. One morning I woke around 4 AM with my hamstrings cramping because my body had gone fetal while I was sleeping in an effort to get warm!
Must be that global warming/cooling thingy...Snow at 8000 feet? My goodness when will this terror end?...... :)
