Today’s Website Problem
To our contributors and readers – I’m not sure what it was but IHTM as you know went wackadoodle this morning. We reported it to the hosting company about 9AM PDT and it looks like it took them the better part of the day to fix whatever the problem was. I haven’t heard back about what it was, but I’ll add to this when I do. Our humble apology for any inconvenience.

I also had trouble emailing a buddy of mine in LA. His replies kept bouncing. Although some would get through, they still showed they had bounced on his end. Very strange.
I suppose we oughta get used to it...once Iran hits us with an EMP blast, none of this shit is gonna work. Maybe you guys should start marketing ham radios?

Well they showed me the server logs, it's definitely not overloaded from what I see. I'm beginning to wonder if some internet outage caused it as it seems to have started suddenly and quit suddenly, the hosting guy said they didn't do one thing to it.
I don't know. I clicked on a link to a thread around that time, and it just sat there and never opened the page.
That tells me that it must be the server, since I'm on East Coast time, and others in different zones all had similar problems. Can't blame it on my ISP because every other page I opened worked fine.
Stuff happens guys, we understand.
I think this 'puter stuff is getting so complicated nobody knows why sudden problems erupt. What I do know is it's always my fault. I didn't gladly slap down $1000 for a new computer. I didn't upgrade from x to y. I didn't buy this anti-virus program because it is better than that anti-virus program. On and on and on, it's always my fault my 'puter doesn't work.
Personally I think it's all bullshit. It's a conspiracy by computer companies to force people to keep spending money on stuff they will never use nor need. And we, the public, are so damn dumb we just keep whipping the old wallet out and buying it. It's either that or drop out of the information age, which most of us don't want to do. How else would all of us here be able to enlighten, amuse, sympathize with or irritate each other? LMOAO!!!
I still use XP SP3 on 2 of my 'puters w/ no problems (maintained w/ some free anti-virus, anti-spam and various cleaning utilities). My other 2 have Win7 due to video work i do, and get this... Bill Gates is now giving out free Win10 to Win7 users - tho i dunno if i will actually install and run it. (It will depend on whether my programs will like it.) But i thought it interesting that Microsoft decided to market the next O/S for free to Win7 & up users this time around...
Anyways... i'm an old PC guy from the 90's and worked mostly w/ enterprise systems, so until all MS is dead and gone, i will be using MS O/S's as they still allow for some backwards compatibility and swapping out little crap pieces here & there... and that anyone and everyone can code something in the way of an app for the O/S for free use.
If you were still running Win 3.11 and didn't click on every stupid ad link on the internet, i bet your machine still runs fine with a little regular maintenance... tho it'd likely be a colossally bulky email reader or word processor, and not much else. LOL!
The guy responded that he couldn't find anything wrong that we may need to reduce the page size or pay for faster servers. I replied it didn't just happen all of a sudden by itself this morning. I'll wait and see.
