Trump resurfaces idea of third-party run. Was this the plan all along? Has Trump been pissing off GOPe so they would go after him, give him an excuse to break his pledge and run on a 3rd party ticket? He can probably suck enough votes away to guarantee Hillary is elected.

Trump isn't going to run as a 3rd party, he's just pointing out that he can turn this election if he does. I think he's just reminding them that they better knock off the bullshit they've been pulling by opposing his candidacy via lies in the lickspittle "mainstream" media and other stupid crap they have been pulling to try and get rid of him-which has backfired on them in a spectacularly enjoyable way. Here's the way I see it: they must really be terrified of him to do this--and they should be. For all of Trumps bluster, he has shown that not knuckling under to the PC police is NOT fatal and is single-handedly reversing the PC idiocy that has poisoned America for years. Also, I believe that Trump is a patriot, and is willing and able to break up the evil corruption cabal that grips DC and kick all the corrupt bastards OFF the taxpayer gravy train. We don't need any more politically correct mealy-mouthed pussy politicians. We need a tough, smart businessman who KNOWS how to run something (instead of kissing donor and lobbyist asses) and who will audit the government and get RID of the waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer money and get rid of the goddam illegals that are bleeding us dry and illegally voting the corruption politician who want them here to vote Democrat. If ALL Trump does is deport all the illegals, he will STILL go down in history as the POTUS who saved America from the corrupt lobbyists and robber barons that are poisoning our great nation. If he does end up running 3rd party, I would have to decide if I should vote for him. It all depends if they end up drafting Jeb, or Ted. If Ted gets the nod, I doubt Trump will run, if Jeb does, I predict a Trump landslide.
No, the RINOs could basically fire him from the GOP rather than see him becoming the Republican presidential candidate, popular support be damned.
Hence Trump must show he can do without them if needed be, that the move would hurt the GOP more than him.
They can fire him but potentially splitting the GOP doing so? Les slikely.
If anyone has paid attention to Trump and the things he has done in the past. He will leverage to the maximum his advantage. He has figured out if the RINOs are afraid that he may do a Ross Perot, they will fold and cower in the corner like the true pusses that they are.
They could fire him and in response he could take a significant part of the GOP with him.
That would be fine in itself if others wouldn´t follow, like genuine conservatives and libertarians fully realizing they have no future in the the Establishement-controled GOP.
The Establishement would not mind getting ridde of them if they themselves were not the minority that gives orders, these vile parasites cannot survive on their own because they are dependent on the efforts and labor of better men and women.
