• It seems Ted Cruz isn't playing nice with most other GOPdidates in their near unanimity to bash Trump. I think that's shrewd. Cruz might pick up the momentum he needs to smash the rino wall. The ones that don't jump on the bandwagon to trash Trump or any other Republican participant exhibit some qualities we ought to be seeking.
  Has Scott Walker given Trump a kick in the face yet?
  Walker lacks charisma but is one of those guys who makes up for that lack in other ways that many regular people appreciate. He also has no "not born in the country" ammo piled up against him. The scum suckers of progtown Wisconsin cannot make any of their fodder stick to Walker! The courts there have told the whistles to suck it up and put a sock in it.

  The ones that continue the discussion of the topics that matter to the people the most are the only ones worth considering. I feel a little bad that rick perry sold his ticket so quickly but he too is just another rino. Every one that put the boot to Trump deserves ousting.

  • Agree. I have basically ruled out the candidates who piled on Trump. Even Carly, who I like, jumped in probably because she is being squeezed out of the picture and needed to make a headline.

    I don't care for Trump for the reasons Andre cited but his immigration rhetoric does resonate and he has taken the narrative from the MSM and that is a very good thing.

    • I was really looking forward to Carly debating Hillary! She is shredding her on interviews now, face to face, it would be a bloodbath. I would still support her for that theatre alone.

  • I see Cruz and Walker as the two most viable candidates and the smartest. It would be wise not to come out against Trump, no need to this early. Perry has been the most visibly against Trump and he is falling in the polls while Trump rises.

• What worries me is Donald Trump becoming the next Ross Perot (independent candidate) that helps get the next Clinton elected. I know it's early, but he has already been asked and would not rule it out.

  • Clinton is our next Potus. Nothing the rinos, socialists or independents say or do can prevent that from happening. They might inadvertently help her along or throw up a roadblock or two, but it is a foregone conclusion IMO.

• Some random thoughts:

  sa_rose and whiskeyriver hit the nail on the head. Trump has this lead because he is bringing up a subject that very many Americans really care about. Ann Coulter, BTW, has been hammering the Rep party for years on this in her editorials.

  Then again, at least part of this lead is due to The Donald being already a celebrity. We're living in a People Magazine culture now.

  IMO, there's gotta be some people who buy into the old H Ross Perot/Jon Corzine mantra - "he's a businessman", "we need someone to run DC like a business", "he's not beholden to any special interests" yada yada yada. Some of that 24% may not even care too much about immigration, legal or otherwise. For that matter, most of that group probably doesn't care about any issues that have a real impact on their lives.

  Mathematically speaking, this lead does not necessarily mean much. While the words "double digit lead" sound like a groundswell, there is another way to put it: "3 out of 4 people do not want Trump. As the field gets thinned, it is not a given that the supporters of the dropped candidates will be distributed proportionately among those who remain. I would bet that almost none of the supporters of the also-rans will go to Trump. In other words, if the field suddenly pared down to 3 candidates, Trump would probably go from 24% to about 26-28%.

  People (even here) talk about The Donald's effect on "the RINO's". Let's not lose sight of something rather important:

  TRUMP IS ONE OF THE RINO'S

  He is like Pat Buchanan. He goes out an says politically incorrect things, things that make the harrumphing class squirm in their Sunday morning talk show seats. He says things with which many of us agree. BUT, his basic modus operandi is no different from Algore, Hillary, Jimmuh, or Obie. He, like the Progressives, believe that the government's job is engineering society. He may preside over a fascism that happens to be somewhat more to our liking, but a fascism nonetheless.

  When a boot is stepping on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of little consequence.

  • Yes, good post Andre.

    Let's not forget that Trump swings waaaaay left regarding fiscal policy and capitalism. He's a tax the rich guy to the very core. But, but he's rich, how's that possible? He's reached the level of wealth where he has so much of it already hidden, that he's comfortable getting the 'visible' income and assets taxed at the maximum rate and beyond.

• Let him be the arrow catcher for a few more months. I don't think we need a Berlusconi here, but anything is better than the gruesome two-sum of Bernie and Hillary.

  I wish Webb would get more press about his calls for a halt to the lurch to the left.

• I love the sight of RINO's squirming in the morning. Trump is pointing the finger at the right people for a change.

• Not a fan of he Donald. And frankly, I don't think this run is even serious. But I DO like the fact that he is forcing subjects out in the open to be discussed and to get some real idea of candidates' positions. Stuff like immigration is more than poor.Mexicans escaping Mexico's hell holes. There ARE criminals, there ARE drug runners, slave runners and other groups such as Middle Easterners who are using our open borders. American citizens ARE suffering. This can't be sanitized andkicked down the road anymore.

  • I think we are all pretty much in agreement. The Donald is P.T. Barnum. It's all show, but he does have the guts to talk about stuff that the others won't go near, and how the hell can we honestly vote for someone who is wishy-washy like Jeb? I mean really they all seem to be trying not to speak about anything that might offend anyone, and that is impossible. People are responding to Trump because he had the balls to say what needs to be said, whether it is about illegal's or McCain. I hope the Donald keeps on going like the energizer bunny for a while. It makes the liberals go crazy and get angry, and they do not function well when they are batshit crazy and angry.

• I think we need to be very careful in giving all this glory to Mr.Trump. His past history with the democrats should be in the minds of everyone. Please don't get me wrong. Mr.Trump is the only one yelling fire. I'm wishing others would start bring up the problems with our Nation with a very loud voice like Mr.Trump..

• LMOAO...I don't pay much attention to political polls, especially this early in the game, but I find it ironic that many pundits were saying The Don's campaign was imploding this morning. Less than 12 hours later Trump is way ahead and Bush is imploding? HAHAHAHA...

Watch Jeb have a hissy fit because some upstart is challenging him, The Mighty Jeb, and is whooping Jeb's ass...Maybe the rest of the Rino's could learn a thing or two.
