"Electric Eye"
Up here in space
I'm looking down on you.
My lasers trace
Everything you do.
You think you've private lives
Think nothing of the kind.
There is no true escape
I'm watching all the time.
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam.
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean.
I'm elected electric spy
I protected electric eye.
Always in focus
You can't feel my stare.
I zoom into you
You don't know I'm there.
I take a pride in probing all your secret moves
My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove.
Electric eye, in the sky
Feel my stare, always there
's nothing you can do about it.
Develop and expose
I feed upon your every thought
And so my power grows.
Protected. Detective. Electric eye
...the thing that stands out looking back on this, are the words, "...I am perpetual", because anything that the feds do that becomes huge, NEVER GOES AWAY, ever. But the rest of this song is spot on as well, & like I pointed out, it came out in 1982.
Another appropriate song:
Alan Parsons Project Eye In The Sky
Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
You've taken lots of Chances before
But I ain't gonna give anymore
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin'
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your Eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
Chorus:
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind
Don't leave false illusions behind
Don't Cry cause I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the Signs are deceiving
(Chorus)
Love Alan Parsons Project!
And of course the politburo will have to hire several million more TSA "employees" to further control the commoners.
New "shovel ready" jobs for all those former ACORN employees.
None of that is TSA's Fucking business..NONE. Obama Brownshirts plain and simple..fear, intimidation, and now even more intimidation..This entire fucking government has gone nuts...Instead of we the people it is now we the politicians....
Next up, a TSA Agent on every street corner asking for "your papers please".
Along with a DNA sample?
WTH?!! This better be a joke...
I think this story might be a tad skewed. They are in the process of creating a safe flyer program to streamline the screening process. My kids flew this weekend and they were told by the TSA that they had been pre-screened and sent them through the old style metal detector with their shoes on. Being airline brats, it makes sense that they are on the list as I've been double checked, printed and triple checked by all the alphabet agencies.
Flip side and little known fact is that right after TSA took over, they did the reverse. As in they singled out airline employees for the extra search process. For several years after 9/11, I planned on being subjected to this BS and alloted extra time to my pre-flight boarding process to make flights on time. People saw the "extra" security in action and thought TSA was actually accomplishing something. Airline employees were afraid to complain because of the potential to lose our pass privileges. Window dressing.
If people want to provide this information in order to walk through security faster that is their choice, but it shouldn't be for everyone that is just insane.
I think the fee based pre-screen program is not proving to be successful. I think they're being forced to do it for free to a frequent flying base to ease lines at checkpoints. And if you believe they don't already have most of this information available already when you book a flight, I have some nice land to sell ya in Florida! ;)
That sort of information shouldn't be readily available to TSA agents that is just insane.
Not to the yahoos running the checkpoint. It will be in a database of items that need to be checked. Don't think of yourself, but apply those items to a 21 yr old Saudi male living here on a student visa. if he's not current on all of his financial obligations, wouldn't it be an indicator of his preparing to meet allah? It is a method of profiling that doesn't raise the hackles of the ACLU because they see everyone getting it. I'm not defending TSA, just trying to point out some of the subtleties of the program.
