Tuba or not tuba – that is the thieves’ question: rash of unsolved tuba thefts plagues Southland high schools. Locals say the thefts likely due to Southern Cal’s banda music craze and the price brass instruments fetch on the black market. A music craze that features cheaper instruments, like kazoos, would fix the problem then.

  • How does one not notice a TUBA leaving its assigned spot? Its not like you can tuck it in your overcoat, like a flute or clarinet!

    • Oh, sweetie, you've seen the pants those idiots wear. Half the time, they're hanging around their ankles, like they just took off in a hurry after taking a dump or something. There is plenty of room for a tuba down there without accidentally hitting their thinking organs.

      Kind of reminds me of the time a woman in my neighborhood got caught stealing a turkey -- she hid it under her dress between her legs. Too bad it was frozen, and so she dropped it. Famous words of the store manager as she was headed out: "You're going to pay for that -- there's no way I can re-sell that."
