Turns out cats really do make you crazy. According to scientists, felines harbor a parasite that commandeers your brain cells, forcing you to like the smell of cat piss, ignore risk, and react slowly. Remember President Clinton and his pet cat, Socks? Doesn’t this explain a lot?

Cats are really awesome. My master, Sidekick, is the best one in the whole world.
Yes, the Dark Lord Timmy is the one that gives me my best ideas.
Sweetie Pie won't help me, though. She's apolitical, although she does hate snakes.
Danny, who is around 18 pounds relies on physical force. Khat is about 6 pounds, so she is more subtle. But with sharper teeth.
Apologies, my cat got to the laptop when I got up. That will teach me to not log out.
oooooooooo, smart cat, he can type and everything. ;)
Naughty kittie!
Something tells me you like it when the kittie is naughty. :P
HA HA. Hilarious. 1) not all cats have Toxoplasma. 2) It can be tested for and treated 3) As previously noted, indoor cats are rarely infected. 4) Wash your hands now and again and wear gloves when digging in dirt outdoors and you will be fine. This guys's list of "symptoms" sound more like he simply has his head in the clouds and as a result, does dumb things. I can't believe this is even a story!
Did you read the part about France being the most infected nation? Starts to make sense, doesn't it?
By the way, your defense of cats has me wondering, "Is this sa-rose talking, or the protozoan parasites which have taken over his brain?"
"her" brain. She's a quite lovely female type person.
Thanks drb. A unintentional mistake I am sure.
She is now, but who knows what she was before the protozoans took over.
J.P.'s reactions aren't what they used to be, Garfield's been pooping on his dog for years and he doesn't know it.
The response was dictated to me by my 2 ruling cats! LOL
One of the hosts of TWIS regularly talks about this when mentioning his disdain for cats.
Well, I have been chasing "kitties" for many years, so that might explain my (lack of) mental stability.
Barney Frank's immune to pussies, so this will never bother him.
"...forcing you to like the smell of cat piss..."
They may be on to something here. I did not grow up with cats, but "married into them" almost 30 years ago ...
holy crap, how did I get here?
but I digress ...
Over the years, I've really grown to like Sauvignon Blanc.
"I did not grow up with cats, but “married into them” almost 30 years ago …"
That sounds really twisted, but I guess it's one way to get your balls scratched.
Hey now, let's not get judgemental!
;-)
Of course conservative cat owners are genetically immune to this! You forgot to stress that point! Remember we're trying to be fair and balanced here. Don't forget to mention our side and how it's better!
Ni! Ni! Ni!
And you're a liberal weak dummy! Go back to your socialist Chevy and crash it you commie punk!
You're really a smelly cont!
Holy crap. This explains every F-up in my entire life! Let's not forget about the dog parasites that make you crave beef jerky, cause your back to itch in that one spot you can't reach and sometimes makes you wish you could lick.... oh nevermind.
Hey, don't bring dogs into this. There's nothing wrong with dogs. Everybody's heard the term "crazy cat lady" but nobody ever calls anybody a "crazy dog lady."
Oh, yes, they do. Hear it all the time, in sentences like "Obloviator, you are one crazy b*tch."
Perlcat, your comment reminded me of that song by Buck Cherry.
"Hey, you're a crazy bitch, but you F:)(/ so good I'm on top of it"
Oh, yes, the single asset the crazy_bitch gene has that keeps it in the gene pool.
May be fun for about ten minutes, but just so as you know, it's just not worth it.
Oh, yes, they do. Hear it all the time, in sentences like “Obloviator, you are one crazy b*tch.”

Yeah, but that's only when you lose an argument with me. ""(Which, come to think of it, IS "all the time.") ;)
Delusional. At best.
Only in your demented mind.
In reality, nobody has ever lost an argument with you.
LOL, Poppa...I don't think that even needed to be said. Everyone here has seen that for themselves.
I have heard of cat parasites living passing via their feces prior to this. We have two cats and mostly keep them indoors - it keeps them free of other diseases as well as the parasite. And I make sure to wash my hands after cleaning their litter box as well as keeping counters clean. His idea sounds strange now but 30 or so years ago, the idea that bacteria could cause gastric ulcers was ridiculed. Today it is accepted as fact.
I'm sure it hasn't affected you... but I'm typing really slow in case your reactions have been slowed.
