The town is a rathole. When I was doing shoots at Mare Island, I would make sure to stay on the freeway right past town, over the bridge, and straight on to the island. I took the turnoff to go through town once. Never again.
I used to go to Mare Island and Vallejo all the time in the 70's and 80's, it was a rat hole then, too.
Eff them, they deserve exactly what they are getting, aaaagain. But remember these 2 things...
1. Liberals/progressive never understand that what they are doing is wrong, they just believe they have not done enough of it yet.
2 Liberalism/progressivism also generates the exact opposite of it's stated intent.

Vallejo, a welfare village by the bay. At one time it had the Mare Island Naval Base and a decent population, now it looks like Detrotistain downsized. The place is dirty, crime ridden and still broke...It has one big attraction, Six Flags Marineworld, which the locals refer to as Clorineworld....and it is not the best attended because of the crime ridden shit hole it sides on the south side of. It is a place to drive through at a high rate of speed on Interstate 80 and you do not stop there or you will become a victim or get attacked by a flock of hookers who congregate along the freeway exits in the low brow motels.....
Sounds like the perfect place for a navy base!
Disagree. It is the perfect place for the Democratic National Convention, second to downtown Detroilet anyway.

Even most of the Navy base is in ruins now. I used to go there to shoot models in an "urban" setting, with the walls crumbling, graffiti, etc. Not any more. They boarded all the abandoned buildings up, and used a big stencil to paint all over them about the no trespassing, violators will be prosecuted.
I know where there's plenty more abandoned buildings, but I don't live near Detroit.

Yeah, I look at pictures of abandoned buildings in Detroit, and think of the cool shots I could do there. If only it weren't in Detroit. I'd never be able to afford the armed security it would take to feel safe there.
