America’s 14 million unemployed aren’t just competing with each other for jobs, they’re also up against 8.8 million part-timers who want full-time work. When (if?) the economy improves, more competition may ensue as 2.6 million workers who have stopped looking return to the job market. Obama’s got the solution, another stale remake of “The King’s Speech.” Is hiring 25.4 million caddies for his next round of golf out of the question?

That is funny; got a chuckle...neither: I sell concrete (well, I sell and pour concrete)...gutters, parking lots, tilt ups...in the desert summer, in the very early AM (2AM). The mix will cure too fast if I try to pour in daylight. So, I have some morning time to mess around on this site.

25.4 million out of work? Get a job at McDonald's or create your own...it's that simple. No gov't, corporation or cartel can create a job...it's all up to you. Either you have something tangible to offer or you don't. If you don't, there's a RR trestle or a .45 waiting for ya to finish it.
Again, Mitch has no idea what he's talking about. Government can't create real jobs, it's true. But if government were to get the HELL out of the way, Corporate America and small business would boom, creating millions of real jobs. Then there's all the jobs that could be opened up to Americans by removing the illegal aliens that are doing them now. Simple common sense.
Each and every American is a job creator--and no one else; not a corporation, small business, big oil or any other entity. Only the individual can create work--or not. Every individual runs their own business...it's capitalism at its best: survival of the fittest. Just that simple.
I have to assume you've never started or run a business in this country, Mitch. Otherwise you would have some knowledge of just how many roadblocks the government puts in the way. Again, you're speaking from the viewpoint of a person who knows nothing.

If you want a job, you'll get one. If you want to create your own job you'll create it. If you want to sit on your dead ass and wait for Corporate American Welfare to hand you a job, you will. It all comes down to making your own breaks.
You might have to move out of town or live in your car for awhile or eat beans and bananas for awhile, but there is plenty of work out there.
Not everyone can start their own business, not everyone is an entrepreneur and not everyone can work at McDonald's or else MCD will choose people they don't have to pay a lot if they perceive taxes and regulatins coming their way. I spent three hours talking ot my socialist brother who insists that capitalism is the problem and the reason why people can't get jobs. That is some tired a** BS I could't believe the idiocy coming out of his mouth. I love him and all but I am ashamed...

Opening sentence to a piece written by a British economist. Needless to say he goes on to advocate nationalizing banks. Worth a read and may give you insight as to why your brother believes why capitalism is the problem. Some of these guys really need to get a real job because the theories are getting crazier as the assumptions prove false.
