• The incompetence of the federal government gets clearer every day. Hackers have been around since Steve Jobs and Bill Gates built their first computers but the government is too stupid to figure out they need to secure all their information?

  Didn't they learn anything after the VA, IRS and DOD were hacked? Apparently not. The fools are so worried about taking our guns or making sure granny isn't a bomb toting terrorist at the airport that they don't have time for important things.

• As a former federal employee, I welcome all attempts to steal my identity. Good luck with that, Chinese intelligence agency. My identity and a buck will buy you a cup of coffee.

  • I leave my identity on the porch every night hoping a raccoon will carry it off. Hasn't happened yet.

    • My credit card offers come in the mail pre-declined.

      • I have gotten credit card offers, with $200 a year membership fees and $300 credit limits, with 29.9% interest rates.
        You want my ID, it will cost you more than you can afford.

• About the only way I can see this being stopped is to either reissue everyone's SSN, which would be a problem in itself not to mention costly and then open for all the hacking to happen again, or set things up so you have to use your SSN plus 3rd party authentication with rolling codes every 30 seconds like Google has.

• Those federal employees include military members.
