Union leader: “We had hoped the decision would have been made on the basis of economics, facts and the best interests of the nation, not on the basis of a political calculation.” Get a clue, guys – Barack Obama decides based on the best interests of number one, himself. Do you suppose that part-time resident of the White House realizes how many
pipelines criss-cross this country with no major spills? Probably not as he is
too busy traveling abroad or going around the country campaigning. Can't wait
for a change in 2012!!
They know perfectly well how many pipelines criss-cross the nation. The same administration that would like to regulate the air you breathe thinks that this is just great. The morons that believe that a new pipeline is somehow dangerous because it sounds new and dangerous (even though there are hundreds of thousands of miles of pipelines in the US) are the real danger to self and others.
My kid's girlfriend is a lib -- and her whole family. They oppose the pipeline on account of its supposed danger -- but her dad *works* for a pipeline company -- travels all the time to check things out and monitor things.It's like they're brainwashed with the stupid. Like Voltaire said, though: "If you can get people to believe absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities."
For once, I agree with the unions on this. Tens of thousands would be employed to build the pipeline, thousands of Americans would have good paying, permanent jobs maintaining the pipeline after it is completed.
Another plus would be it will run through the Bakken oil fields in Montana. Dump the EPA stupidity, tap into the vast oil field in our country, and send our oil south to the refineries. A bonus would be building a few new refineries along the pipeline so the petroleum products needed would be closer to the consumer, resulting in a lower cost.
The benefits to our country, our economy, would astronomical so you can bet your ass the Obummer will do everything he can to shoot the XL pipeline out of the air.
What the unions have'nt figured out yet is that the "greens" play hard ball better better then they do. If people need to be unemployed because a small fish, or an insect, it shall be done. The "greens" don't care about anything except destroying our lifestyle at all cost. Unions just want to rig the game in their favor. So in the end, the unions lose, & in THIS case, so does America.
Well the unions are now pissed that their friends in Congress voted present on the pipeline. Why would they be surprised? It's time the membership of the unions tells those running them that they answer to the membership, not the other way around.
Unions are just a smaller version of the communist party. The minority telling the majority what in the hell to do, right down how to vote is what the union leadership is all about

It was never his plan to have a pipeline, ever. If for some (nightmare) reason he gets re-elected, he'll kill it. China's leadership must have a big smile on their face right now, for if they don't go south, they'll go west with the pipeline to Vancouver and the oil will be shipped overseas.

As the elections get closer, OBlowme will dangle the carrot at the unions until all have promised to give him their votes and money and then wallah, the XL starts being built. That's the way OBlowme does politics. It's always been that way. He learned that in Rev. Wrights church. You don't get a sermon till the tithing plate has been passed around and it will keep being passed around until it can hold no more.
