His defense is that his religion says is okay to murder people whom he disagrees with, so he should be let go. He attacked the officers, yet pleads the officers to not treat him with force. I guess his religion also states that he can hit someone, but he should not have to accept the person hitting him back.

I don't know if I had said it enough times, but (Fundamental) Islam is to me a religion that is meant to be contrary to Judeo-Christianity and Western type cultures overall. It was fashioned and created to be so, in my humble opinion, by an evil totalitarian inclined (spiritual) force that seeks to destroy all that is good in the world.
All I know is this... he is going to have it too good. He will have free cable and free food and nice accomodations on my dollar, my hope is that (unless he repents) he will pay for what he wanted to do and for the grief he is putting all Americans through one day in a very hot place.
