Haim Saban, an Egyptian-born Israeli-American and chairman of the Hispanic television station Univision, says Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is “anti-hispanic.” Apparently because Rubio opposes the DREAM Act and “amnesty”. Just like raaaaacism, being “anti-hispanic” now is about whether one sucks up to the Democrat agenda or not.

How is it that our politicians are strong armed by "el puto" to do interviews in order not to have old dirt on a brother in law be exposed...WTF is that?!?! Democrats are the lowest form of scum, just below republicans I fear but jeez, want to see what happens when illegals are allowed by our "el puto" politicians to run amok and free, come to kalifornia. Why do we have Spanish language television and radio in America anyway? I thought this was an English speaking country? In this mornings local paper was a story about how there is now a Public radio in Spanish in Kalifornia and they are building five more stations on the border in Texas.
If you want to immigrate fine, do it legally and learn English. Rubio is one of the brighter guys I have seen that doesn't buy into that hopey/changey bull and wants immigrants to come here legally, like the LAW says., I don't see anything wrong with that. The race card once again gets tossed out by someone on the left with an agenda. That Agenda would be the dram act, if that thing passes our costs for a whole lot of things will skyrocket.
I guess we could call Mr. Saban Anti-American for programming to non English Speakers using our airwaves. Mr. Saban needs to give it a rest.
The local PBS station has 4 channels. 1 is exclusivly Hispanic. Not that that stops them from taking up time on the other channels for Spanish language programming. We have multiple radio stations and a TV station that's been here at least 60 years to my knowledge. And you wonder why they don't learn English? Besides, isn't Univision a product of NBC?
If the free market supports any channel, english or spanish, fine. But public taxpayer broadcasting? Nope, that should'nt exist.
Public funding for broadcasting is wrong. Agreed. I know you like Wilkow and he is correct when he points out how much money Sesame Street earns while airing on PBS and they both get federal money.
The libs will argue that Masterpiece Theater or opera would have no space in TV without public TV. Boohoo. There are how many channels today? If there is a legitimate market for such programming, then a
cable channel can and will air them.
If the libs then argue that would cause people to have to pay to see the arts, then I say where was the liberal outcry when every major league baseball team moved their regular season games from local affiliates to team owned cable sports stations? Now people have to pay to watch their favorite team. Is there a difference?
I like PBS programming, and am thankful it is NOT on cable, since I don't DO cable. But for all the foundations, trusts, and viewer money they get )and the repeatedly tell us the viewers are the largest source of income) it seems they could live without government help. Likeaffirmative action, it may hae been a good idea at the beginning, but its no longer needed.
How much does Sesame Street earn from licenced product sales? Thats the real question? A question I have is that if Voice Of America is ilegal ( it cannot be broadcast to America or Americans) since it is deemed to be propaganda, why is NPR/PBS legal? I don't see too much of a difference.
Could not agree more. I should have been more clear about Sesame Street. I was referring to the product licensing when I mentioned their earnings.
