UPDATE: Solyndra Targeted In Criminal Probe. The Wall Street Journal reports Solyndra is the target of a criminal investigation into whether its executives knowingly misled the government to secure more than $500 million in loan guarantees. Meanwhile the President was sighted heading to a golf course to look for the real criminals.

Whether this gets swept under the rug depends on whether this story has legs or not.
If this story goes away, for whatever reason, the investigation dies. Well, it dies once the investigators get a sufficient amount of money, and they are sufficiently vested for yet another cozy gov't pension. But that's another issue.
If this story does have legs, and gets the dreaded "gate" attached to it, then someone will take the fall to cover Obama's ass. Which will serve as a good lesson to FOO's (friends of Obama). And undoubtedly, the Solyndra people were "friends". That's how they got the 500 mil in the first place.
The irony is that after all the Clinton administration's FOB's that got thrown under busses, you'd think they'd learn. As long as you're useful, great - we're pals, here's 500 mil, etc. But the moment it becomes "either me or you", trust me, it will be you. Every time. As loudly and severely as necessary.
As a State Senator BHO gave 100k taxpayer dollars to a campaign groupie in order to build an "urban garden" in BHO's district. Months later, no garden, no money. The reason? Why, not enough OPM, of course!

Any one of these 'issues' that Obama is associated with would have been front page news for months if Bush had been associated with corruption like this - but for Obama, the media will sweep it all under the rug. Disgusting.
The DOJ is just "securing" the damning evidence so that it never sees the light of day. They'll probably have Sandy "Pants" Burglar be the one in charge of keeping it "safeguarded".
