I saw the story on the local news last night, they had the center of the picture pixilated so you could not see what the dog was doing, Gosh a liberal family, a Ghetto dog, trying to buy guns, the guys wife holding the evil AR-15 at a gun range. This whole family needs to be on a terror watch list. They fit the profile of wanna be mass murderers according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, dem white folks with guns and dogs is all into dat violence..

Doesn't CA have a vicious dog law or something to that affect? If so, they've broken that one too. Why hasn't PETA taken Kelly/Gifford to task for allowing a vicious animal to attack and kill a sea lion? If that had been a conservative or libertarian, they along with the press would be calling for the destruction of the dog and large fine for the owner.
According to what I know, a vicious animal has to be taken to the county or city animal shelter to be determined if it should be put to sleep. In this case from the video I would shoot the dog in a heart beat. I believe it also a fairly substantial crime to harm sea life of any kind here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia, and so far not a peep out of PETA.
Knowing this crazy bunch I bet the dog is outta state already and the whole thing will be dropped due to Mommy and Daddy's political party affiliation.
Yea, I thought sea lions were a protected species. Were are Gov Moonbeam's brownshirts with warrants, court orders to have the dog destroyed, and million dollar fines for the owner?

In Maint. and Ops for the County I work at, we take care of many facilities-Animal Control being one. The few times I worked there and saw the quarantine section, it was 90-95% (pit)bulldogs. Snarling barking, and drooling. Nice dogs.
It's not the dogs, it's what the owners do to them.
That is the WHOLE problem. Same with German Shepherds, Doberman's, Rotties and Boxers. These idiots get a puppy from the moron down the street who is backyard breeding, raises it to be vicious because the owner has testosterone poisoning. Then to complete the triad, they take the dog ( a very social animal) and tie it to a stake or a tree in the backyard and he lives in a circle with the radius equal to the length of the chain attached to the collar of the dog. Then a neighbor kid decides the nice doggie won't mind if they climb in the yard to get their (fill in the blank [ex: ball, toy, balloon]) Dog gets hysterical over invasion in his pitiful territory, attacks kid and all of a sudden the entire breed should be destroyed. If they want to destroy a vicious breed that will bite with absolutely NO provocation, destroy al the chihuahuas.
LOL. My neighbor's chihuahuas got out when I was walking my Pit Bull the other day and charged her. She has a very deep and loud bark. One of those and they ran back to mama.
That is true, If the owner is a piece of crap ghetto type gang banger you can beg the dog has been abused and will respond like any animal would. I ran the shelter for a while (Civillian administrator was selling shit on E-bay and faking overtime cards while in his office and got fired-probably a friend of Crowley's) Say some actual very nice, very well behaved pit bulls. By and Large, it is the idiots who own them that give the dog its bad name, too bad we can't put a choke chain on them and whack the crap outta them while they are chained in the back yard in their own poop.

Without a doubt. Moonbeam, plastic Pelosi and the hag sisters Boxer and Feinstein would all make certain the charges went away.
I despise those who are all about telling me that I work for them and they pay my salary only to findout that its their connections keeping them out of jail. It's too bad once and while the safety checks, license and insurance verification catch them so drunk or stoned they can barley stand.:). That's when justice is served and all the connections don't help.

Surprised the media didn't say that a sea lion pup had attacked Giffords family and luckily their dog saved them. See you don't even need a gun to protect yourself from wild animals.

I find it highly unusual for a domesticated animal to do this? The animal should be put down. A dog that attacks and will not follow commands is not a pet.

CBS News LA called the dog an American Bull dog. If the dog was owned by GW Bush or Sarah Palin the headlines would have been, "Sarah Palin's vicious pit bull kills innocent baby sea lion!" Or "George Bush's dimwitted ferocious pit bull destroys tiny baby seal" But no. It's "Gabrielle Giffords' husband pulls daughter's American Bull dog off sea lion" Never once calling it a "pit bull" or mentioning it was a BABY sea lion. Talk about double freaking standard. No wonder the country has been flushed down the shitter.
My pit bull doesn't have all the pit bull features. We never had her ears done or tail bobbed. Her head is more rounded and not huge plush she was the runt of the litter and isn't very tall. She can pass for a Staffordshire Terrier. We generally tell people that's what she is so they don't freak out when they hear pit bull.
On the other hand I freak pit bull owners out as I have no apprehension about walking up to their dog, letting it sniff my hand and petting it.
Pit bull owners are always pleasantly surprised when you treat their dog just like any other dog. Now, if it's obviously one of the asshole pit bull owners that has trained his dog to be just as much of an ass as he is, I keep my distance. From both of them.
