Being a Veteran with NO other option for healthcare. I have to put up with this crap all the time. I don't need these videos to tell me how bad it is. Each patient exam room has a sink and towels (paper) for the Dr's and Nurses to wash their hands before they examine a patient and RARELY, VERY RARELY do they ever do so. I have been using VA care since 2002 and during that time I've been switched around through at least 10 different primary care Dr's and ONLY ONE has ever washed his/her hands before examining me.
I have had blood drawn by people who are wearing gloves (latex ones) with their fingers exposed through holes in the gloves. They just drew blood from someone else and never changed the gloves. I have no idea if the patient before me had a blood borne disease did they, or how many people this lab tech had drawn blood from using those same gloves! Highly UNSANITARY and DANGEROUS to say the very least!
I have been using the VA for 10 years longer than you and have never had a problem with the care, getting in the door to see a doctor is where I have trouble. I have never had to use the VA hospital for primary care though, I live in the sticks about 3 hours away. We used to have local healthcare clinics that could see veterans but they were shut down in 2012. Now the clowns in Washingtoon have set up this "Choice Card" thing where I can again go to my local clinic for primary care but, of course, it is a pain in the ass. Still, it is better than trying to get into a VA medical center just for checkups and minor care.
If you live more than 40 miles from the nearest VA medical center you may want to check with your local clinic and see if they accept the Choice Card through the VA. At least you will get to see the same doctors and not have to wait 3 months to do it.
Yea, the choice card sucks. You can take longer to get an appointment that way than through the VA, because the VA has to research to find out if they can provide the service elsewhere, so they don't have to pay someone else to do it.
They closed the eye clinic near me, and in order to get an eye exam, I would have to use a local guy, or drive 48 miles to the VA Hospital in Tampa, and then drive back, with my eyes dilated! It took them 3 months to approve me to go to a local guy.
Meanwhile the upper managers of the VA continue to get their massive bonuses, and refuse treatment to the Vets who need it most. But then Quagmire doesn't give a rats ass for our military, so they figure why should they care.
This is one of the things that was suppose to stop. It appears not only to not have stopped but continues on. It is time to give those who are in need and have served this nation the best care. PERIOD. They are far more deserving than members of Congress, Supreme Court and quagmire.
Yet the above mentioned fools all feel that illegals should go to the from of the line to get free shit to include health care, education, food and housing. Trump is right, its time to take care of our Veterans and throw all the illegals off the government tit.

I'd love to know how he managed to video this. I nearly got arrested for trying to take a picture of a sign that said "The Price Of Freedom Can Be Seen Here" at a VA hospital. There are signs around that say no photography permitted.

Exactly. Gown. And gloves are not required for every patient contact, so I need more info on why this is an issue. I DO thinkthe care for Veterans is frequently substandard, but this doesn't how it.

This is what govt run health care looks like. This is where we are going if the Progressives get their way.
They were serving food and drinks without wearing sanitation gloves. Those people are supposed to wear gloves whenever they come into contact with food or containers of food. The one broad handed the patient a cup of coffee/tea bare handed thus raising the possibilities of passing an infection of MRSA.
In food service, one must wear gloves when handling food that is raw, or has already been cooked and it now served. If the food is to.be cooked, they don't have to wear gloves, just wash their hands (there is a specific protocol for that.) In medical settings, gloves are to be used whenever there is a possibility that one will contact bodily fluids, including blood, drainage, emesis etc. If someone comes in to exam i ne me and does not wash their hands appropriately, or use hand sanitizer, they don't get to touch me until they do. Same with lab techs. I will not let them use the same gloves on me as they have used on another patient, nor will I allow then to remove the fingers from the gloves. Any more, patients have to.com stand up for themselves.
