Vultures eat French tourist

Vultures eat French tourist. “There were only bones, clothes and shoes left,” said Major Didier Pericou of the gendarmerie. New EU regulations are causing the vultures to starve all over Europe so they’re attacking live animals, threatening people, and in this case they ate a woman’s body before rescuers could get there. (Everyone is optimistically assuming she was dead from the fall when the vultures arrived…)

    • Are you talking about Oblovia? I don't think she's still alive, haven't heard from her in almost 18 months. I think the troll bait we used last time killed her under her own bridge.

  • Law of unintended consequences. Clearly, the fall carrion her away, which is offal.

    • It's funny when you realize that your childhood memories are almost antiques, isn't it? OK - funny may not be the right word.

  • Once animals get a taste for human flesh they hunt for it. This is actually terrible news.

  • Sounds like the Democrats, they turn vulture when they run out of other people's money. Perhaps they should change from the Donkey to the Vulture.

  • I think French president François Hollande's governing Socialist party beat the vultures there.

  • Adam Berendt: Imagine vultures attacking for food to survive after the political vultures ban their food supply.

  • Yes, she was most likely dead already. However, it's still a major shift in behavior. Vultures really prefer their food to be at least 3 days old before partaking in a carcass.

    • I have seen vultures start the appetizer course before the entree is dead. If it can't really get up and run, the vultures will get started. And keep eating at the buffet until all the goodies are gone.

      • When my two daughters were really young I used to take them hiking, and one time we were driving home afterward on some backwoods gravel road when I saw a bunch of wild turkeys out of the corner of my eye. I stopped and started backing up, saying, "Hey, girls, wanna see some wild turkeys?" They were mucho enthusiastic about seeing wild turkeys. They didn't even know there were wild turkeys. They quickly jumped over to the driver's side backseat window and stuck their heads out. Lo and behold, when I reached the birds and we all got a good look, they were turkey vultures, about twenty of them, feasting on a giant bloated foul-smelling deer carcasse half in the road. All I heard from the back seat was, "Ewww! Yuck!" and we had ham for Thanksgiving that year.
