They canalso use EBT cards for fast foodin some states. Seeing as how food stamps are under the Dept of Agriculture,and are not considered welfare, but a "nutritional assistance program," why are we encouraging the poisonof fast food? I rather like the WIC program. Et to spend the money willy-nilly, but are givensomemoney for dairy, some for fruits and veggies, some for. Grains, sime for protein. Only certain foodscanbe bought, evenwithinthose restrictions. Like artichokes aren'tcovered, but green beans and carrots are. Make sense to me!
When I was in the Air Force, I knew a couple of people that got WIC. They were in the Air Force also. It pissed me off that anyone in the military was paid so little that they qualified for WIC, especially a Sergeant! But I did like the restrictions of WIC.
They could get milk, cheese, vegetables and baby cereal. No Mountain Dew, no Cheetos, etc. They only qualified for WIC while the wife was pregnant, or for a specific period of time after giving birth.
Yes, lots of troops qualify fo r regular food stamps. How disgusting is THAT!

Live lobster MAY be purchased with ETB.
I didn't buy any lobster, live or otherwise. I don't have an EBT card, so I can't afford it.
And, lobster is pretty cheap up there!
Compared to many areas. But still not cheap enough it should be on the welfare menu.
We won't have to increase their allotments to cover munchies, just tell them their chocolate ration has been increased. They'll be so stoned, they won't know the difference.
Better idea, leave a trail of brownies and Doritos that ends at the edge of the Grand Canyon......at the start of the line free dope...watch what happens.....

Just like I have said many times on other issues. I don't want to participate however indirectly on the lifestyle choices of others when I don't agree and in some cases, even if I do agree but it is not justified for me to pay for it/participate.
Someone last night on a shows stated that most people understand that the use of drugs like marijuana and excessive use of those like alcohol rob one of life experiences. I agree with that. These people are robbing themselves of life experiences like having a normal life outside of welfare.
If they want to do it, they should do it with their own money.
If the school lunch program is so good, why not apply it to this EBT nonsense? If we are going to bleed money to feed people that cannot or will not help themselves, then why should we let them get to a place where we have to pay more for their medical care too from these bad decisions?
