    • Gore worries me more then Phelps & his "fag" obsessed church. WBC is like a shock rock band, they entertain by being absurd, only not on purpose. Gore actually sold his soul years ago, feels he got screwed out of the 2000 election, never got over it, & has tried to make the world pay in the form of carbon credits. He's still a danger to our republic.

  • You know what? He could very well have been saved by the skin of his teeth. We may be surprised to find in him Heaven, but he may very well be. He may have seriously been saved and he may have had a relationship with Christ. He just FAILED miserably in the execution of his Ambassadorship position. As JP stated, it may be an awkward conversation, however he may still be saved just that he may suffer a GREAT deal of lost. Lost of presents, gifts, attaboys, responsibilities, etc., etc. that would have been his otherwise. All of his craziness will have to be burnt up in order for him to enter cleanly into the Kingdom of G-D. Whatever relationship he did have with Christ at this point in time, we just don't know.

    The reason I say this is because I keep thinking of my crazy ass Aunt. She is CRAZY; she is annoying, she is disrespectful, selfish at times and when she wants to be a seriously mean ass b*tch.... and she is a Christian. I do believe that she and Jesus DO have a relationship, but she is a crazy ass woman! She is one of those women that is married for YEARS to this really AWESOME and GOOD man, who is longsuffering and just deals with it, while she is CRAZY, crazy ass b*tch. However, when it counts, she is charitable, she cares, she teaches and spreads the Word as best she can, she encourages people to get with Christ (do as I say not as I do in her case lol), she does what she has to do when it is necessary, etc., etc. Most of that is perhaps very intimate and secret so what MOST people see is the crazy ass b*tch, whereas in the secret places she displays SOME semblance of the love that she has for her husband. I see my Aunt in that way. She has this secret and special relationship with Christ who is the ONLY person that tolerates her completely and loves her and understands her frustrations and stupidities. She is just FAILING so much! On so many different levels! I have very little doubt she is saved, but she may suffer great lost.

    I say a lot of us Christians if not all of us, will be suffering lost be it little or a lot as we meet the Lord.

    So I guess we will have to wait and see about this guy. He may have NEVER been a Christian, just a nominal fool. If he took the Name of Christ in vain and he didn't really believed then of course we all know as per the Word where he is going to end up. However, if he did believe and he did confess Christ as Lord and they had a relationship, even though he was (as I think we can all agree) a HUGE FAILURE of a diplomat and ambassador for the K of G-D, well... if he was saved, he will suffer great lost, great great lost but make it in.

    Someone who doesn't know Christ may not understand what I am saying here and say that is QUITE unfair. Flip it and try to see it from G-d's perspective. He is not a tyrant LORD who wants to see as many people fail in life and go to Hell. He doesn't want Heaven to be an exclusive club for those who ONLY live right for ALL of their lives. He is not interested in just dealing with the truly perfect (although I am sure they are liked by Him very much of course). Nope. He actually wants as many people as possible to be saved and to succeed in this life to go into the next. Broken, sinful, crazy ass people, who fail day in and day out. Whatever He can do to exercise Grace AND Mercy on His Creation, He will do and do it gladly. As LORD He has privileges and He is not afraid to use them.

    It may seem unfair that this man gets saved, but he will still suffer loss, so it is not like he will just go to heaven and not have some consequence for his huge fail as a Christian. However, we should not be upset if he is indeed saved because got to tell you, that is great! If a man LIKE THIS can get saved IF indeed he had a legitimate relationship with Christ , I mean come on! A lot of us Christian people I mean seriously... our worries about our salvation should be over if we indeed had any anxiety.

    So again... if this guy was a blasphemer and a freak fool that didn't care about Christ, didn't believe, etc etc... then of course I mean we all can agree where he is going...

    However I mean even if perhaps LIGHT if he had a legitimate relationship with Christ even with his HUGE fail, he may be in Heaven. I say in that case good for him, he cut it very close, I am sure he will be made aware of that. He will suffer loss. He will be a bit ashy and he is an example to me about how I need to stop failing as a Christian and do what I go to do and not be a crazy ass diplomat/ambassador ALL the time. Jesus can forgive the sins of this man if this man did accept Jesus' salvation, He can certainly forgive my sins and my crazy ways and failings as a follower, I just have to try harder each day not to fail so much.

    • This is exactly what I was saying above. WE think he shold burn in hell, but GOD thinks we should be in relationship with him. If so, even at the last second, or the first moment after death, they are saved and will never go to hell. Sounds frustrating to us, but God judges different things in a different way than we. Which is probably a good thing for all of us!

        If G-D were to judge the same as WE judge... oh baby NOBODY is saved... No matter if there is 100% perfect church attendance doing all the rituals right, etc etc... no way nobody is saved.

        G-D HAS to operate on a completely different level. A HIGHEST level. For me I see only good things for this man to be saved IF he had a true and legitimate relationship with Christ and ACCEPTED His Salvation and Forgiveness. HUGE FAIL as a Christian, I am not going to disagree with that! However imagine... if HE can be saved... come on! How is that not good news?!

      (CNN) -- Fred Phelps -- the founding pastor of a Kansas church known for its virulently anti-gay protests at public events, including military funerals -- has died, the church said Thursday.

      The 84-year-old died of natural causes at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to church spokesman Steve Drain.

      Phelps founded Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, in 1955 and molded it in his fire-and-brimstone image. Many members of the small congregation are related to Phelps through blood or marriage.

      In a statement Thursday, the church chided the "world-wide media" for "gleefully anticipating the death."

      "God forbid, if every little soul at the Westboro Baptist Church were to die at this instant, or to turn from serving the true and living God, it would not change one thing about the judgments of God that await this deeply corrupted nation and world."

      According to Westboro, the church has picketed more than 53,000 events, ranging from Lady Gaga concerts to funerals for slain U.S. soldiers. Typically, a dozen or so church members -- including small children -- will brandish signs that say "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers."

      Under Phelps' leadership, Westboro members have preached that every calamity, from natural disasters to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, is God's punishment for the country's acceptance of homosexuality. Phelps had advocated for gays and lesbians to be put to death.

      "Fred Phelps will not be missed by the LGBT community, people with HIV/AIDS and the millions of decent people across the world who found what he and his followers do deeply hurtful and offensive," the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force said in a statement.

      "While it is hard to find anything good to say about his views or actions, we do give our condolences to his family members at what must be a painful time for them."

      Anti-gay preacher once fought for civil rights

      In 2013, more than 367,000 petitioners called on the White House to legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group. The White House called Westboro's protests "reprehensible" but said that "as a matter of practice, the federal government doesn't maintain a list of hate groups."

      In 2011, the Supreme Court upheld Westboro's right to picket military funerals on free speech grounds. Congress and several states, though, have passed laws aimed at keeping church members at a distance from funerals.

      Nathan Phelps, Phelps' estranged son, posted a Facebook message March 15 saying that his father had been excommunicated from the church. Later, though, Nathan Phelps said it was "unclear" whether his father had been expelled from Westboro.

      Westboro declined to say whether Phelps has been excommunicated. A church statement said March 16 that "membership issues are private" and that eight unnamed elders lead the congregation.

      On Thursday, the church added, "Listen carefully; there are no power struggles in the Westboro Baptist Church, and there is no human intercessor -- we serve no man, and no hierarchy, only the Lord Jesus Christ."
