CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

This scum is islamic. To him. the best part of waking up is folg--no no, sorry, the fresh smell of camel dung. I'm sure he got most of his indoctrination from rev wright screaming Christ wanted to hang the black man too. We best get ready for Hillary to run this toad back to his pimp station in Chicago come 2012.
All points debatable
As usual barry seems to ignore that this nation was founded on Judo/Christianity values not some other religion. Yes people have ever right to worship or not worship as they see fit. Yet when barry claims to be a Christian while all the time paying homage to those of Islamic faith it leaves one to question his beliefs.
Always pay attention to what a politicians does and who the seek guidance from and not what they say. barry’s actions and friends speak volumes to what he believes in and how he wants this nation to be.
I love how everything has to be religious to the christian conservatives. There is poverty and rape happening in Africa, Europe is falling into an economic collapse, Japan is still recovering from the disastrous tsunami and here America is bitching that the President is not using the word "God" in his speech. What a bunch of BS.
Lets not forget that Newt, Romey and Perry didn't include God in their speeches as well. Looks like they are anti-american as well.
I love how everything has to be about attacking religion to the humanist. Guilty conscience? Would there be less rape in Africa if more African men had the self-control that comes with Grace? Would there be less rape in Africa if there were fewer angry men coming out of broken homes? Would there be less poverty in Africa if Grace were opening more closed hearts? Would Europe not be falling into economic collapse if the sacrificial Judeo-Christian spirit there was as prevalent as it used to be and not the gimme-gimme-gimme spirit of the cradle to grave secular entitlement mentality? The outpouring of help from the United States and the rest of the world for Japan has been extraordinary. Good luck with that noble society devoid of Grace. It never has been and never will be. The 20th century is a history lesson on the atheistic monster state devoid of Grace. And so those of us who already see the damage caused by the marginalizing of God in this country since the 60s are going to speak up.
I don't have "Grace" but I live quite the model conservative life.. kids, faithful marriage, good work ethic
Kinda like my dad and my mum, come to think of it, who both went to Church as kids, but did not take us
I don't subscribe to any religions, and I don't believe anyone when they claim to have the answers. Death will bring answers..
(yeah, and all the while, no rapacious inclinations)
You brought some interesting points. However please keep in mind that religion has caused so much despair throughout history. Such catastrophes include; crusades, protestant reformation, imperialism, slavery, etc. Even today the islamic extremists are chopping heads off of innocent people. If you look at countries such as sweden, france and norway they have significantly lower crime rates then ours. In fact on average atheists commit less crime then religious folks. Many religious folks like you seem to believe that without religion the world will go in chaos. There is no evidence to suggest such thing will happen. Many secular humanists I know are truly warm and compassionate individuals. Of course I know many religious fellas who are the same as well.
You cannot contribute Europe's trouble to lack of religion. Turkey is far more religious than ours yet they are involved in economical turmoil as well. The problem is Europe has a history with screwed up politics. Seriously.
I never want to destroy religion (in fact my wife is a fellow Christian). Personally, I have no problem with one's own beliefs. However, I don't see what effect saying "god" in every speech has. I doubt that Obama neglecting the use of the word "god" will make more people become atheist.
sheerfire:"religion has caused so much despair throughout history."
I think irreligion has caused infinitely more despair. I like to say that for every person killed in the name of religion, I can show you nine killed in the name of irreligion. Communism has killed tens of millions in the past century. We've had over 50 million abortions in the United States since 1973 and there are an equal number every year in the world.
sheerfire:"in fact on average atheists commit less crime than religious folks."
I would need to see some proof to believe that. There are many more religious people in the world than atheistic people, but on average I don't believe religious people are more violent than atheistic people. In fact, I believe the opposite to be true. Aren't the lion's share of gangbangers in America's inner cities as irreligious as they come? I'm not saying Religion and/or faith will necessarily overcome many of the deep problems these young people have in their homes overnight, but Grace could calm them and give them hope for a better future.
sheerfire:"Many religious folks seem to believe that without religion the world will go in chaos. There is no evidence to suggest such thing will happen."
You don't think the Soviet Union and China from the 20th century are evidence of the horrors of the officially atheistic state?
In generally defending religion, I'm not going to defend every religion in the world. In particular I'm not going to defend Islam though I don't think most Muslims would become physically violent.
Dont forget this key paragraph too:
"So, what can we conclude from this? Either Atheists are really good at getting away with crime, or we commit less of it. I think the latter is more plausible. Yes, the total population of ”admitted atheists” in the country at that time was only about 8-15%. You would then expect the total prison population to be about the same… but it wasn’t. Atheists accounted for 0.209% of the total incarcerated – 1/5th of 1%. That’s at least 40 times lower than would be expected from random distribution based on the population. Hmmm"
In case you believe the link above is bias there is a source towards the bottom that supports the data given in the article.
You are confusing political catastrophes with religious beliefs. You can reasonably proclaim atheists all want communist nations. Isn't it a bit unfair to pick out a few communist rulers and use it for your argument that atheists are dangerous? In that case I can name several popes and other religious leaders that caused bloodshed as well. For the record Hitler was a CATHOLIC even though he certainly didn't demonstrate the religion's core values
As for the gangbangers part i will have to check on that. I believe minorities are more religious then white individuals Don't quote me on that though--I'm not too sure.
Lastly let me remind you that I do not want a religious free nation. Instead I want a secular nation which is quite different:
I like the "divine babysitter" bit.. reminds me of a "divine nanny state"
I won't apologize for not needing a deity to be a righteous dude
But Alien, I would argue that you are a "righteous dude" precisely because you are obeying a natural law God is speaking to your heart. Jesus spoke mysterious words about guiding people who are not official members of His Flock. Don't get me started on the Chinese. We agree there.
Many of us would say that the human nanny state has risen up precisely in an effort to replace the family which has broken down under the assault of secularism against faith. I guess you don't like the "divine babysitter" bit. I hope you feel the same way about Nancy Pelosi trying to advance the federal babysitter. Maybe if we had stronger, faith-filled families, the liberals wouldn't push the human nanny state so much.
I don't pretend to have all the answers.. Its obvious there is an Entitlement Cancer, well advanced, putting a drag on our economy.. I am personally ready to conscript recipients into workfare of some kind (to me this is preferable then simply letting people die or resort to crime when there is no work to be found). At the same time, i won't ignore undue corporate influence in government either (ridiculous subsidies of all kinds, complicity in globally distorted trade imbalances which destroy whole industries) I would wager a number of god-fearing families watched their livelihoods vanish in order to feed the godless cogs of Chinese manufacturing
Hitler was baptized Catholic but didn't have much to do with Catholicism. That's a straw man argument. Whatever religious faith gangbangers and people in prison were raised in, aren't they for all intents and purposes godless and at least practical atheists if not official atheists? Many official atheists are educated people and aren't going to become criminals. But how well does such a philosophy work with many less educated members of the citizenry? In the past many of these people were restrained by the values they received from a more religious society. You speak about " a few communist rulers" but their body counts are in the tens of millions. It doesn't take too many people to set off tremendous evil. Our founders were highly suspicious of rulers who didn't think our rights come from God. They rightly saw that such thinking was a recipe for tyranny. Adams said our founding documents are set up for a moral people and will not work otherwise.
Not to mention, the Crusades were in self-defense. My only problem with them was that they didn't finish the job. They left some Muslims alive.
Well, them Crusaders did screw themselves out of Jewish allies by slaughtering them both in Jerusalem after the siege, and pillaging Jewish communities back in Europe (e.g. Rhineland, etc)--out of the usual anti-semitic ugliness, and even some creative strategy for financing some individual Crusading knights
Yes, there has been some anti-Semitism among Christians over the centuries. But there has also been quite a lot of Anti-Catholicism and Christophobia among Semites. They've martyred a few Christians of their own.
Did you know that some Jewish people in the modern entertainment business portray Christians in the most vile ways in entertainment shows and movies, constantly putting crosses around the necks of villains? Such entertainment can plant the seeds of hate in the hearts of many weak minded, gullible viewers. All I'm saying is, it hasn't only been a one way street between Christians and Jews in terms of unseemly behavior.
Probably true.. my main comment is just about the cluster-f*kk that was the Crusades. I purposefully did not mention Christians by name
One thing I've learned, through personal experience (not ideology or rhetoric, but actual interactions) is that Christians are overwhelmingly very nice people. So are Mormons, who I've had as neighbors for years, though I moved out of AZ a few months ago (they are sooo helpful, in first encounters, i was like WTF is going on here???). So are Mexican families.. nicest people on earth, love their kids and make me wish I actually learned espanol instead of pointless German
I'll tell you this though.. if more Christians would lay off the gays (and some high profile ones appear to be doing this), they'd get a lot less flack out of Hollywood
Republicans expect their elected officials to include sanctimonious religious proclamations in their public addresses. Perhaps Obama should have announced that God spoke to him and suggested that he pardon the turkeys as a gesture of Christian compassion.
Why would he give praise to a Christian God when he bends over to islam? I hope and pray to God that those of you who voted for this fool will realize the mistake and help get rid of him in November.
Leave it to a bunch of idle and angry right wingers to search for something to get offended about on Thanksgiving Day. Talk about "political correctness" run amok.......
How many of you even mentioned God on Thanksgiving, except to take His name in vain when you accidentally spilled beer all over your favorite La-Z-Boy recliner? From what I see here, most of you just focused on stuffing your faces, and b*tching and lying about the political opposition. In which part of the New Testament are those particular Christian teachings covered? :D
Oliver quit being such a c*nt. I guess you didn't get your halal neckbone this Thanksgiving. Gimme your address and I'll make sure you get a buzzards neck next year.
I hobbled over to my parents and thanked God I had one more Thanksgiving with them.
I stuffed my face and thanked God for his bounty once again.
I came back home and drank a few beers while watching football. All the while thanking God for such a wonderful day and His blessings.
Did you idle and angry left wingers as great a day as I did or did you sit around and bitch about your sorry lot in life.
Olivia, you are a smug, self-righteous prig, you know nothing about my Thanksgiving nor anyone else's on this blog. I could tell you how my family celebrated the holiday but you're not worth my time.
The New testament covers a lot of ground, you should read those sections dealing with hypocrisy, covetousness and envy.
Enjoy those tofu drumsticks. ;)
Ah, more stereotyping from Ms. My Shit Doesn't Stink. 1. We thanked God for dinner. 2. No one in the house had a beer, in fact we don't even have one in the refrigerator. 3. I don't own a La-Z-Boy or any other recliner. 4. I didn't stuff my face, I had my usual one helping and no more. Talk about lying about the political opposition, you're the master at lying, stereotyping, obfuscating and then spinning it back. Regarding the New Testament, you look it up. Hopefully, when you touch a Bible you'll melt.
"and once again, from Michelle and myself, Happy Thanksgiving and Allah Akbar"
If obama would have thanked God he would be thanking himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay, now I know you're a right-winger trying to make marxist groupies look silly.
I hadn't heard Obama's Thanksgiving message and I'm not going to listen to it now. Any man who spent twenty years attending the church of the reverend Jeremiah Wright can't say anything honest about himself or his beliefs and is necessarily a hypocrite.
Hopefully, his next Thanksgiving address will be his last as President.
I hadn’t heard Obama’s Thanksgiving message and I’m not going to listen to it now. Any man who spent twenty years attending the church of the reverend Jeremiah Wright can’t say anything honest about himself or his beliefs and is necessarily a hypocrite.
**********************
Unless you've actually listened to some of Wright's sermons (ALL of the sermon, not just three words taken out of context and repeated ad nauseam by Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck), you're not qualified to judge, are you?
You're also not qualified to judge the characters of the other 8500 members of the church, but that's what you're trying to do when you make silly generalizations like the one above.
P.S. If you want Obama out of office in 2012, you'd better come up with a better Republican candidate than that procession of clowns your party has trotted out so far. Just saying........ ;>)
"P.S. If you want Obama out of office in 2012, you’d better come up with a better Republican candidate than that procession of clowns your party has trotted out so far. Just saying…….. ;>)"
Bozo could beat the clown we have now! }:o)
Whenever I comment negatively on the reverend Wright (who is now in comfortable retirement) Olivia comes hustling to his defense. Are you one of the benighted 8,500 or just a member of his fan club?
What part of "God damn America!" don't you understand?
P.S. if you want Obama reelected in 2012 you better come up with something better than 9%+ unemployment, $5 trillion in additional federal debt and an economy in permanent decline. Even a clown could do better than your Bozo.
The prodigal Jello woman returns.
My girl, it is unlikely that you have ever heard his sermons in their entirety so you are unable to defend the reverend if we use your standard. Nor are you able to defend the congregation. You don't know them or whether or not they are worth defending just so you make a stupid reply on an Internet board. As usual, just more pointless drivel and trolling from our little village idiot.

I read the article and never realized that GQ was so racist . If they weren't racist they would see Zero's greatness.
