As you may be able to tell from the number of Australia-related stories at IHateTheMedia.com, the Editor has a soft spot for the Land Down Under and would move there tomorrow if only he could talk his recalcitrant wife into it.
Sure, the Aussies have their own problems and they tend to mirror our own – an extremely liberal Prime Minister whose poll numbers are plummeting, illegal aliens, and a party in power that’s pushing cap-and-trade, to name just a few.
Even if another country isn’t better, just different, being 10,000 miles away makes the socialization of the United States easier to take.
With that in mind, if you chose self-banishment, what country would you want to live in? And why?

Here it is Feb 12, 2011. My home in Crystal River, FL burned May 4, 2009. The crooks at Universal Property & Casualty Insurance in Florida have still not paid a dime!! Who will be for the working people of America? Who will sponsor a Bank Consumer Protection Bill and an Insurance Consumer Protection Bill?

Remember, the days of "moderate" Democrats are over. They are all leftist ideologues. The most liberal Republican is more conservative than the most conservative Democrat. Every Democrat in the House would have voted for this health care bill had his or her vote been necessary for its passage.

If you want to save the American Health Care system, do not vote for ANY Democrat in ANY election. Vote for Conservative candidates. You'll find most, but not all, of them in the Republican party. As noted above even if a Republican candidate is not as conservative as you'd like, he or she, with rare exception (think Arlen Specter), will be far more to your liking than his or her Democrat opponent.
For my part, I hope like hell J.D. Hayworth beats John McCain in the Arizona Republican primary. But if McCain wins, I'd a helluva lot rather see him in the Senate than whatever radical socialist the Democrats serve up.

He said that all can be undone in 4 years or less, and that what did come of the 219 jack offs passing the bill (as bad as it was) was a WATERED DOWN version of what the psycho left wanted. It got chipped away at greatly because of the Right, because of the Tea Party and such. The people rose up, and while it seems that fight is lost for the moment, and got pressure to take effect on our leaders.

Very well stated! At age of 67 in May, I am too old to fight the commies there anymore. So I bailed out! Like hundreds do everyday that come to some part of the Philippines. The capitalist banks & insurance companies are worse than the commies, and NO ONE will pass a Bank Consumer Protection Bill or Insurance Consumer Protection Bill to protect us working stiffs from these damned crooks!! The Feds bailed them out with OUR money, but still allow them to screw the HELL out of us!! My home burned May 4, 2009. Here it is almost April 2010 and the damned insurance company has not paid OR offered to pay one dime!! I was in Cebu City when it burned and had caretakers/renters living in it. Lost all my furniture, linnens, cookware, two large TVs, antique bed that belonged to my grandmother etc. Having to sue to try and get a settlement !! People...what is worng with this picture??? We have NO protection from the government against these crooks!! The government bailed them out with OUR tax money! Where the HELL is the justice? Where is the Democrat Party? Where is the Republican Party? Does either party give a DAMN about us ordinary, working citizens? You people out there...give me an answer!

If you have read International Living or other similar publications, there are other places with less CRIME, that are cheaper, and have a better QUALITY Of LIFE. I bailed our of the USSA...United Socialist States of America... and moved to Cebu City, Philippines. Here there is still the Bible, God, Christ, Ten Commandments, and Prayer in the schools (and NO cops). Also in many government offices, you can see the Christian influence. And RP is a Democracy.

That is where I am headed, not sure about Cebu, but probably near Subic Bay. Cavite is developing nicely too...get away from some of the Manila madness, but close enough to get things done there.
Suggest Cebu. Less crime. Plenty of fellow foreigners. Lower prices. Better air. Subic prices high!! I now prefer Iloilo City over on Panay Island. Just 350,000 population yet 4-5 large malls. AND prices are unreal! Can rent a house...YES...a house for as low as P3,500 a month. Rent a new 3 BR 2 bath townhouse for P6,000 a month. There is a foreigners meeting every 1st & 3rd Wednesday at 3 PM near SM City. 20-35 show up at every meeting. The beer is expensive though... P30. P43 = $1. The girls in Iloilo are pretty and friendly.

YEPS. At age 66, I actually got up the nerve to bail the heck out of the USSA. I grew up in the US..hardly any crime, safe to take your car on long trips...pull to side of road to nap & rest...NOW..if you did you would end up dead! Right? We use to go shopping in town...lock the house doors? Heck no. Did not HAVE TO! Now you need Two doors with four locks each...and a chain link fence. This is NOT the US anymore peeps!
It is still safe in many pockets of society in the country. Once you get into more urbanized areas crimes do go up etc. With that said I believe that if not all a good part or area in the Phillippines is actually hostile to religious freedom so that is why I was surprised to hear that.
