  Modern humans' problem is, they lost their ability to adapt. Once the global climate warmed and stabilized to some degree, they settled someplace, slapped a name on it and pretended that it's always been there when "always" equates to a couple of hundred, maybe a thousand, maybe a couple thousand years which, in the grand scale of things is the equivalent of a fart in a tornado.

  "Modern" people are largely incapable of thinking beyond the short term. If a hurricane flattens a gulf coast city and that hasn't happened in recorded history, they call it "unprecedented". No, dumbass, it's not unprecedented, it happened long before your knuckle dragging ass existed. If an earthquake flattens a city, it's a disaster because of the scale of loss. You wouldn't experience loss of that scale if you paid attention to FVCKING HISTORY.

  "The oceans are rising". Well no sh!t, that's what happens when ice sheets melt and run into the oceans. Guess what? When they froze, the ocean levels dropped. Do you really think Florida always looked the way it does, just because you assigned a border and name to it?

If you settle on the east or gulf coast, you're exposed to tropical storms. If you're in the plains or midwest, a tornado could take you out. If you settle in California, an earthquake might kill your ass and if you're in the southern part of California, you might experience drought and water shortages because you essentially live in a FVCKING DESERT.

• The bigger problem behind this action on the part of Obmana is one that has been festering in the leftie circles for a few decades now.

  People like RFK Hubert Humphrey, George McGovern actually believed the socialist BS they were spewing, and (here's the key), tried to argue their position to change your (meaning the typical reader on this blog), mind. The thing I noticed coming in with the Clintons at the same time as Limbaugh changed the way conservative ideas were delivered to the public was this: the Clintons lied. They lied consistently, and even when lying was not even necessary. They knew damn well that Rush was going to call them on it, followed by Hannity and the rest of the radio conservatives. And they didn't care. They no longer had any desire to change anyone's mind to come to their side of the spectrum.

  Thanks to public education, lowering the voting age to 18, to massive immigration from 3rd world countries where the notion of liberty/individual rights have never existed, RINOS's, and a supportive media they feel that they've got this one. Conservatism, the era of Reagan have been discredited, conservatives have been permanently labeled as hateful nuts (see: Tea Party), and the future is Progressive.

  The thing that concerns me is that at this time, William F Buckley is dead, and Rush and those who would carry the torch of influencing conservative philosophy can be safely ignored. Statists are leading in the polls for POTUS on the Rep side. Most who are running are status quo RINO's. But what happens if the conservative side starts making gains? They would need to up their battle plans. Because as Dennis Prager said, "The left never stops" (a fatal mistake made most notably by Newt Gingrich in 94-96 - he thought he won, and now he/the Rep congress can just coast). Where do they go when they just can no longer ignore the right?

  The foundations for their next step have been under construction quietly for some time now. Speech control and basically micromanaging every aspect of our lives is the norm now. If you stand on religious principles and "offend" a privileged party, there is something wrong with you. You have a "phobia". In other words, you are insane. We have been seeing papers written by very learned men "proving" that conservative = ignorant, lower IQ, mentally unstable, etc.

  • OK, to be fair, the people of Alaska voted for the name change years ago, but it was never done. It just irks me that the name is being changed from one dedicated to a Conservative president, to anything else, but it is being done by a Commie Muslim. I wouldn't have been so bothered if a Republican president did it, because it was the wish of the people, but this asshole is getting his jollies from it.

    • Poppajoe the only problem with changing the name of Mt. McKinley is that only CONGRESS has the authority to do so. Once again oblame-o has usurped the powers of Congress and refused to uphold his oath to "PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION"

  • 1. A REPUBLICAN white guy, to boot.

    2. There IS climate change. There has always been climate change - week to week, year to year, decade to decade, century(ies) to century(ies). The issues are

    a. the ridiculously biased and totally unscientific projections of where the climate change is heading (the purpose of which is to cause alarm so people will demand immediate action, which action will have no effect on climate, but lots of effect on liberty, and none of it good), and

    b. whether anything we have done actually caused any of that climate change (and statistically speaking, there is no basis to believe that human activity causes climate change considering that greater climate changes have occurred in the past when the most significant human activity was the killing of a woolly mammoth and the ensuing small bonfire to cook the meat), and whether the absurd actions that are suggested (such as putting solar panels on your roof, pulling the plug on your toaster when not using it, or screwing in a mercury-laden squiggly light bulb), will do a damn thing to alter what the climate is doing.

    Cult-wise, you're right on the money.
