I call bullshit. !) is she in a high rise? Or a duplex? 2) SHe is 8. Pick her up and carry her. Parents carried their ill and disabled children for years before insurances made wheelchairs available. 3) She does not have a heavy, electric wheelchair, so why can't they make a couple of trips (like parents with strollers and young children do every day) and get her out of the house and on the way to school and life as she knows it. There is something VERY fishy about this story, and if any part is true, they need to quit waiting for the good fairy to come bomp them on the head with a plenty stick and get on with their lives.

I agree with Plainsman, at some point you must take up the cause for your own family, in this your daughter. This is an excellent example of people waiting on the damn government to help them and take care of them.

It's terrible that they haven't been able to get the elevators fixed, but I'm sorry, if it's my daughter, I'm going to figure out a way to get her up and down those three floors so she can have a normal life, being out in the world, going to school, getting some sun, so on and so forth.
