White House clueless about Hobby Lobby decision. Press Secretary Josh Earnest (who really isn’t) keeps talking about Obama’s “constitutional lawyer” credentials and why he disagrees with the decision, apparently unaware that this wasn’t a constitutional law case at all. And Reuters reports that the president may “act on his own to mitigate effect” of the ruling… which is exactly what he did in the first place and the Supreme Court just slapped down.

  • So someone who claims to be a Constitutional scholar can pick and chose what laws to enforce, but scratches his head when the system as set up by the founders of this country works as designed.
    I think the term wanna-be tyrant is closer to the truth.

  • Since liberals refuse to try to understand yesterday's ruling here is another way to look at the decision. What gives employees the right to mandate their religious beliefs onto their employees? Nothing does. And Hobby Lobby isn’t. If Hobby Lobby was an Islamic company and they demanded all employees wear a head scarf, that would be an imposition upon its employees.

    Conversely, if you (liberals) ran a business and your Muslim employees demanded that you pay for cliterectomies you’d be getting closer to what Hobby Lobby is facing, unless you’re all for that practice. Of course answering that question creates a predicament as you would have to either acknowledge the misogyny and barbarity of Muslims or betray your favorite victim group.

    One leftist blogger tried to argue that since China buys stuff made in China, it is being hypocritical since abortion is legal there. Hobby Lobby’s water and electricity comes from a country that has legalized abortion – the United States.

    Should they stop doing business with them, too?

  • Mr. Earnest seemed to say that the Constitutional Monar..., er, Scholar was going to read the decision before passing judgment on it. Prepare for a long wait.
