The Grassley message had to have shook them up… White House must be aware Issa and Co. might have something that could inflict a hell of a lot of damage.” Obama’s presidency may be about to collapse, fast and furiously.

    Based on everything I've observed over the last several years, it pretty much mirrors many of the conclusions I have come to by connecting the dots.

  • I'll believe the collapse when I see the collapse. The usual butt-kissing media will do their best to under-report this.

  • Here is the perfect time to spring this on the WH. Right after the Dim Witts convention. barry is already nominated and then he has stand there and take the heat for the mess he created. Grassley and Issa better have the stones and back bone to do what needs to be done. We the People are watching what they are doing.

  • Looks like "Dear Leader" has really stepped in it this time. His fellow parasites are already screaming racism, and the crosscut shredders are working overtime over at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I guess being a legend in your own mind isn't what it's cracked up to be.

  • When our nation begins to return to sanity next January 20, I hope one of President Romney's first acts is to re-name the DOJ HQ in Washington after Brian Terry---publicly!

  • A deputy attorney general, quoted in the L.A. Times, said releasing the documents “would have significant, damaging consequences.”

    No doubt. But what sort of damage? Damaging consequences to Obama's reelection campaign? I don't think that is what Executive Privilege is supposed to be for.

    I hope these lying cheats get strung up (figuratively) by their feet!

  • One: you can't declare Executive Privilege unless the White House was involved (which the White House has repeatedly denied). Two: the Supreme Court has made it clear that Executive Privilege cannot be used to cover up a crime. Three: we're almost two years into this, Eric Holder offered the documents to Issa YESTERDAY (with conditions which Issa found unacceptable), and suddently TODAY they are subject to Executive Privilege? Wow. This is truly stunning in its ugliness and childishness and stupidity. Don't they have lawyers over at the White House?

    • OK, by declaring Executive Privilege, Obama has officially declared he knew about the whole deal.
      Issa read on TV this morning the requirements for Executive Privilege, and stated that this falls far short of qualifying.
      Someone stepped on their foreskin on this one. There is no way to wriggle out of it now.

    • That's the problem. They are ALL lawyers. They know that the laws can be twisted and manipulated to prevent the truth from ever coming out, or at least stalling it until no one even remembers what the fuss was all about. That's what they have been banking on for the last 18 months. The media has tried, but the public is not letting it die. Too bad for them.

  • "I didn't know about Fast and Furious."
    "But you declared executive privilege."
    "Stop interrupting. Questions will be answered when I'm finished. As I said, I didn't know. And now I'm finished. Goodbye."

    Obama didn't throw Holder under the bus like he's done so often. Whatever is in those documents is so damaging that Obama declared executive privilege--indicating that he HAD known all the sordid details and whatnot--just to keep them out of sight.

    I wonder if someone, somewhere might decide to undermine executive privilege and send copies of those documents to various news outlets, bloggers and the like. It would be interesting to see CNN and MSNBC go out of their way to try and mitigate the damage, only to see their numbers go even more into the toilet as even more people realize how partisan they really are.
