I knew this was going to happen. He was born in Canada, but his Mother is a natural born citizen. If Obama was born in another country his Mother was a natural born citizen and there you go, but it seems that he was born in Hawaii. The thing however is the secrecy that Obama had around his entire history and that is the reason why this birther thing got started. However Cruz has never been (and couldn't be anyway) secretive about his past.
McCain was born in the Republic of Panama it is my understanding but his parents are/were natural born citizens, don't recall this being an issue when he went for the Presidency.
It is Constitutional for a President to be born or even raised in another country as a child as long as he or she is a US citizen from natural born parent(s).
McCain was also born on a US reservation in Panama (Military Base), which is the same as being born in the US.
If Obama is eligible, because his mother is a natural born citizen, then so is Cruz. CASE CLOSED!
I thought the whole deal was that Cruz's Mom was from Cuba, so he WASN't natural born by any definition.
No his Mother is a US National. His Mother and/or his Father would have to be a US National and Cruz would have to be a US citizen. Also his Father I am quite sure, became a Naturalized Citizen. Obama's Father was not even a Naturalized Citizen, but even if born in another country, Obama is still Constitutional eligible for the Presidency. Cruz had dual citizenship with Canada that he gave up a few years ago, it seems he did not realize that he had it, was my understanding. However there is nothing unconstitutional about a US President having dual citizenship that I know of.
