  • The article basically takes the position that reelecting Obama as Chief Golfer with a GOP congress means gridlock and hence less spending and hence, a bad economy. In other words, austerity will bring doom. Electing Romney with a GOP congress means the spigot will be wide open and the economy will propser. I think that's all wrong. What we have to do is get rid of wasteful spending that does nothing for the economy. It's not stupid Democrat spending or stupid GOP spending but STUPID spending that is dragging us down. We don't need a GOP president to come in and reward a different bunch of cronies than Obama, we have to reduce the number of cronies sucking at the government teat. Defeating Obama would be a good first step - besides his wasteful spending, we would remove an impediment to oil and gas production as well as his repressive regulatory overhang on business (and would improve the odds of getting rid of the Obamacare albatross) but in the long term we need to get rid of the "crony capitalism as usual" attitude of the Washington culture.

    • No, you still have private ownership of your stuff, and businesses still (somewhat) control their own fate, his job isn't done yet.

  • If he gets another term, the huge sigh of disappointment will be echoing through the country.

  • In the case that the Republicans control both houses of congress and stop acting idiotically (big assumption there), AND Obamacare is declared unconstituational, a second Obama term might not be that bad. If he wanted any kind of legacy to survive his petty dictates he'd have to work with the Republicans to have something to point to. The SCOTUS appointments would have to be filtered through the Republican Senate cough - Bork - cough.

    • Great theory *not really* because where have you seen the President abide by Congress or Article 1 Section 2. He has shown himself willing to act independent of any constitutional restraint. In short, he is lawless and needs to be replaced.

      • Executive order this and that. Recently he said when congress refuses to act, he and ol' joe plug will act. Recess appointments during times when there are congressmen conducting minimum operational duty to avoid his executive actions, a technique employed by the progs during the previous administration. Czars to lead new regulatory offices created to avoid elections of people who then can draw up regulations to constrain freedom. Even if the SC did smack down the free health care for money scheme he got passed, he'll enact as many components as possible by decree. He will do as much damage as he possibly can.

        • And just stuffing Congress with Republicans won't do any good unless you replace all the existing ones with Republicans with balls. I haven't seen many stepping up to the plate.
