Democrat Gov Cuomo lobs public pension grenade at NY unions. Raising retirement age, increasing worker contributions, offering a 401K option – but only for new hires (if there ever are any.) Guess what, the unions are up in arms over it anyway. What part of “the state’s broke” don’t they understand?

It is being said that it might be Cuomo vs. Hillary for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. That is, unless some unforeseen event prevents an election that year.

Oh the unions "understand" perfectly well. But do you really think the greedy bastards give a rat's ass?
Poor unions, they are so mistreated. Oh well, if they don't like the governors proposals they can all lose their jobs, it's part of that "broke" thing, then we will see which side of their mouth they talk out of. If they can still afford a telephone.

I think it's that part between the word "of" and "don't."
I understand how upsetting this might be to some of the rank-and-file, but even they have got to know that when you're broke, you're broke.
That seemes to be a concept that is very difficult to understand. If there is no money, it doesn't matter how much you deserve it, how worthy and idea it is, or how many will be helped by it. THERE IS NO MONEY!!

Typical union mentality. Their foresight extends from their eyeballs almost all the way to the end of their nose. Given a choice between $100.00 today and $1.00 per day for the rest of their life, most will choose the $100.00 every time.
"Dey dont give us wot we want we're gonna put dem out of business." Meanwhile the rank and file are unemployed and the leadership takes their multimillion/annual package off to destroy some other jobs.
If the unions hate it, it must be a good idea.
But if a Cuomo proposes it, there must be a hidden catch.
