You probably missed “global wind day.” It has nothing to do with politicians (with them, every day is global wind day): “It’s a day for environmental activists to push for more funding for wind farms and indoctrinate young children.” Yeah, we missed it but if they never have another one, we sure as hell won’t miss it.

Go driving around the Dakotas, & into Canada around Manitoba & Saskatchewan. Very few places will be as windy as these places, & I been there to experiance it, & I'm going back in a month. All of that wind makes golfing there a challenge.
Come to eastern New Mexico if you want to see wind. What nobody wants to say is these big wind generators they built around the area have to be locked down if the wind speed exceeds 30 mph. Around here 30 mph isn't wind, it's a theraputic breeze, so you hardly ever see the things turning, generating electricity.
It's been a long time since I've been down that way, & I don't remember if it was windy or not. That was 30 years ago, but I don't doubt it. NM is wide open like the prairies, & it makes sense that it would be blustery.

I observed global wind day with an extra helping of baked beans. It was very windy at home yesterday evening.
A big pot of pinto beans, cooked with a chunk of salt pork and ladled over a slice of cornbread, makes for a global wind day any day of the week you want. Plus, I can add my contribution to the globull warming problem!
Not to mention being quite delicious!
